  • can anyone put this here on youtube please !

  • Much as I like anime, this looks more like Disney's Hercules than moe.

I know we need to spread knowledge of the lives of martyrs, but an innocent, theologically accurate moe nun anime would do a world of good for the Faith!

  • Does anyone know who made this anime?

  • hey this is not Catholic heroes, this is a "Torchlighters" video of voice of the martyrs, do you have the permission? any rights??

  • nice mythology..

  • Anime is Japanese. This is not anime, these are cartoons.

  • i woner where one could see it?

  • This IS NOT anime. Its an animation....yes, but not anime. The art style looks nothing like Japanese style animation...

  • cool!

  • sweet! I love cartoons and storytelling... no matter what the story :D

Even tho I am atheist atm

  • @ArgumaticShutgun

AT the moment?? You make it sound like religion is a trend, :P

  • @ArgumaticShutgun you are atheist ass-to-mouth?

  • I hope they can do this without making it too corny. Also, PLEASE stop making all the heroes WHITE and all the victims and bad guys black or dark. I am so tired of seeing blue eyed versions of Jesus. This really undermines the credibility of the story.

  • @glitterlamps Perpetua's pastor and 2 of the other main characters in the movie are black. There are no bad black people in the movie.

  • LOVE the story of Felicitas and Perpetua!

  • Well, the animation is not the best...... >.>

But I'm glad the artists are putting their effort into such a good cause! ^^ Bravo folks, we need more good Catholic animations.

  • I m Christian Orthodox.i read for St.Perpetua in my Οrthodox school.Τhe blessing of St.Perpetua let with us.

    :-)

  • Early Christianity offered women a life option previously not available to them; the ability to choose their own fate even up to martyrdom

The Romans could understand why women would prefer chastity to the Roman version of marriage and paternal rights.

Odd as it may sound, Christianity advanced the role of women in society to stations and options not previously known --there was even a reaction & once things were legal and there was time for Theology, woman were asked to keep quiet in church.

  • For all who says that St erpetua was dark-toned, I says that at this time North Africa was populated by Barbars tribes coming from Germany, so they were of course light toned with light eyes and possibly red hairs. it is only after in AD 700 and the Arabic conquest that this area was populated by dark toned Arabs. Still in Kabylia, an Algerian region there is people majoritarily with light eyes, the descendat of those german tribes, Christians and hated by Arabs.

  • Yes, it;s all about you people.

  • Isn't she suppose to be North african ? Red hair green eyes? Really? My fellow catholics, pls lets do better then this. This kind of thing do not honors us.

  • As a Hispanic, I do not appreciate it when movies or representations depict certain historical figures as being light-toned when they were not. However, in this case, I know there were many Romans living in North Africa (like Augustine), so this might be accurate (the skin, not the eyes). Isn't the hair brown?

  • North Africans do not look like that. That hair is red and the eyes are green.

  • Please note, I am completely unbiased on the matter. I just know from history that at one time the Romans occupied North Africa and many Europeans were born there.

St. Perpetua would have likely been light-complected, although I have no clue what her hair and eyes looked like. I assume she would have had brown or black hair since red-heads were not common among the Romans.

I understand that North Africans look nothing like this today. I have two friends from North Africa who came to America.

  • But then when it came to st felicity the slave, they somehow came to the conclusion that she can only be black even though the mentalities were not like that then.

  • Yeah, you may be right there. I don't know enough to make a judgment on that.

  • Ever heard of immigrants? People did move from one country to another in those days, especially Roman citizens, who had the protection of the state.

  • I guess that is why the other saint witch was her slave is automatically black . Yes, St felicity...the one next to her. Because ....she can only be black.

  • @SeptemberCatholic18

I don't know what she looked like, but Italians can have red hear. Christopher Columbus was Italian and a red head. Other than that I don't know the heritage or hair color of the saint in the movie.

  • That'll be interesting
