This is actually how I do my burpees. No clap, more explosiveness, and a bigger jump. It's actually a bit harder to do it like this successively. I also find that if I bring my feet closer to my hands before the jump squat, it feels like less of an impact on my knees -- and your legs last a bit longer!

he is not using bad form he is falling into the pushup instead of crouching - plank - crouching - explode. it is just a different way of doing it which is more plyometric based then the "standard" burpee. It is more taing on the elbows and shoulders but if you have proper flooring it's ok. Please note the height of his jumps! Compare it to crossfit they just tap 1 inch of the floor. I'd say that it's pretty impressive and he should just keep it up. Just my 2c

Very impressive. As for the argument about whether or not you are doing "real" burpees: as I understand it, arms overhead may make the move a bit more metabolically demanding BUT they also add momentum to the jump which takes some of the workload off the legs.

@stackgzup the burpee i do is stricter and more difficult than either of yours...but i only do sets of 20. basically i follow ilovelouis's form, but with some tweaks to make it harder. firstl, i'm on my fingertips. second, i do a full push up, from top to bottom til my chest touches the floor. third, i cross my feet at the ankle and have one foot on the ground for the push up. kicking back into this position tasks your coordination and balance more and makes the push up more difficult.

Personally I don't think you should let the chest touch the floor when doing burpees. As long as your arms are bent 90 degrees it's perfectly fine. At my boxing gym a lot of people cheat on burpees by letting the chest touch the floor just so they can bounce off the ground.
good stuff. the only thing I was taught to do differently is to do a Full squat both before and after the pushup. and "full squat" as in ass by your ankles (feet flat on the floor) and your knees by your armpits. if you just did that , then you would absolutely have the *Perfect* Burpie video in my opinion.

I just started them as part of my plyometric leg training and I can do 10, and then I have to take a break before I do another 10. But I suck with pushups...

@mikey777666 That depends. In cardio only intensity matters. If you can easily do burpees then there's no point and you should move to something harder like running/biking up a hill as fast as you can. You want to do elongated Tabata intervals to get the best out of a cardio workout and it should only take you 8 minutes per day at most.
More important is your diet. If you aren't eating properly at the right times then it'll take you a few months to see results. Eat good, and it's a few weeks.
The BEST and most BRUTAL high intensity full body exercise you can do. If you aren't puking all over the place after this then you didn't do it right or you didn't do it fast enough. This ain't your sissy jogging pseudo cardio shit, this is what builds your endurance and energy right here.
If anyone's new at this and wants to try it, please for the love of god do some proper stretching beforehand and take it slow at first. And do your research if you're serious about fitness, you won't regret!
Holy shit, nice. I did 50 jumping jacks, 10 royal marine push ups, 25 royal marine sit ups, 20 Squats and 10 burpees. Did this 4 times over. In total i did 200 jumping jacks, 40 push ups, 100 sit ups, 80 squats and unfortunatley only 30 burpees. If i did the last 10 burpees, i would have been on my back chocking on my own vomit. This was very hard for me as i have only just started working out. Hopefully, some day, i'll be as fit as you.
Excellent and best high rep burpee form I have seen on Youtube. Most high rep burpee practitioners either cheat by touching the ground with their knees and thighs or cheat on the vertical jump by merely doing a small vertical hop which doesn't tire the body as much. Props for best one I have seen so far.

Its always funny to see people talk about "form" on videos like this. Most of them probably couldn't do a burpee and the ones that can aren't doing 100 in less than 5 minutes. You sir, are a beast.. hats off.

@cashpath well he really is a beast and i can´t do 100 proper burpees in less than 5 minutes but truth is i may take longer but i do FULL burpees with the squat and hands high in jump. maybe i could do them faster by skipping the squat part the way he does but i have brittle wrists and i would risk injury. a full burpee with squat and all is harder than what he did here and he would take longer to do 100. he is in great shape sure but those are not perfect form burpees.

@cashpath because you either do something or you don´t. and you should call things by their names. a burpee includes a squat that will make it harder and there is no squat here so he is not doing 100 burpees. you still need to be fit to do that....but not full burpees.

@cashpath watch "100 burpees 9 minutes 15 seconds" he starts doing close to perfect burpees in the beginning but by the end he stopped squating like the guy in this video. see squating makes it a lot harder. and a burpee with no squat is like a burpee with no pushup.

ive been trying to add 30 min cardio to my weight lifting program, im on the stair master on leavel 8, i sweat, but do you think burpies would help shed fat faster? 2 weeks burpies? how long?

@mikey777666 That depends. In cardio only intensity matters. If you can easily do burpees then there's no point and you should move to something harder like running/biking up a hill as fast as you can. You want to do elongated Tabata intervals to get the best out of a cardio workout and it should only take you 8 minutes per day at most.
More important is your diet. If you aren't eating properly at the right times then it'll take you a few months to see results. Eat good, and it's a few weeks.

The BEST and most BRUTAL high intensity full body exercise you can do. If you aren't puking all over the place after this then you didn't do it right or you didn't do it fast enough. This ain't your sissy jogging pseudo cardio shit, this is what builds your endurance and energy right here.
If anyone's new at this and wants to try it, please for the love of god do some proper stretching beforehand and take it slow at first. And do your research if you're serious about fitness, you won't regret!

Holy shit, nice. I did 50 jumping jacks, 10 royal marine push ups, 25 royal marine sit ups, 20 Squats and 10 burpees. Did this 4 times over. In total i did 200 jumping jacks, 40 push ups, 100 sit ups, 80 squats and unfortunatley only 30 burpees. If i did the last 10 burpees, i would have been on my back chocking on my own vomit. This was very hard for me as i have only just started working out. Hopefully, some day, i'll be as fit as you.

Excellent and best high rep burpee form I have seen on Youtube. Most high rep burpee practitioners either cheat by touching the ground with their knees and thighs or cheat on the vertical jump by merely doing a small vertical hop which doesn't tire the body as much. Props for best one I have seen so far.
