  • That guy's a really shitty interviewer

  • how come all these kerrang podcast interviews are filled with so much background noise? why cant you just get an external mic and do an interview inside a room or something without all that noise? annoys the crap outta me. good interview anyway.

  • just makes me want to read Tales from the Eternal Kingdom see what its all about.

  • They are from the same town as Meshuggah and hardcore legends Refused + many more great swedish acts .

I don't know what it is about that place that births so much genious music .

  • True that. I hate living in Sweden in the winter..... but I guess that's what makes the music so dark...

  • Millencolin aint dark :P but yeah Sweden being a small country has produced some amazing music that spans many different genres.

Metal, theres Opeth, Cult of Luna, In Flames, Soilwork, Arch Enemy. Punk, theres Refused, International Noise Conspiracy, Millencolin.

  • No, I ment Cult Of Luna i particular. All music isn't dark obviously :)

    Yeah, for sure.

  • remember sweden is the 3rd largest country in europe, not so small.

  • @Kafe420 Third largest in size, not population obviously.

  • @vertgg um.. yes

  • @ShaxDr87 i think you have a valid point, it´s a bitch being here during winter

  • @NeuroHead It's the cold that keeps us indoors and let us play all day long :)

Nah, I think it's the amount of young people and how encouraged culture is here!

  • I love this band and the concept behind "Eternal Kingdom" is simply awesome and very interesting, but I wished that the music was as good.

  • It is damn you.

  • oh it is good music but I think it was a step down from "SATH" and the songwriting was a bit bland.. great band anyway.

  • Ah, can't say I've listened enough to make the judgement.. perhaps you're right tho

  • I recorded an album in the same place as he is talking about. It was kind of eerie to know that people have been locked up there. The toilet rooms looked like they were left like they were back then.

  • Wow first decent band to be on a podcast for Kerrang in a long time. I stopped reading Kerrang after I realized that the entire magazine is dedicated to Metallica, Bullet for my valentine, My chemical Romance, Trivium, Fall out boy, Bring me the horizon and a handful of other shallow garbage.

Kerrang is the worst class of alternative music magazines. Alternative Press is much much better because they feature many more bands and theyre not obsessed with shallow and uninspiring and generic shit.

  • hes right...all genres get stale even when their as creative as theirs. they all get monopolized and things like that so im glad they are going in a new direction

  • dude is speaking the truth about how a lot of people are trying to start post metal/melodic sludge bands. always got to be ahead of the times.

  • what i like about COL is that they always have a theme on which the CD is based on.

There is always a store behind their records basically.

  • vadimo, Cult of Luna are awesome. But if you like thematically intriguing albums, listen to the Alchemy Index installments by a band called Thrice, its brilliant and groundbreaking, haven't heard anything so ambitious in a long time. Each of the CDs is based on each of the elements, Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Fire is heavy and incendiary, Water is electronic and nautically themed and Earth is acoustic and stripped down and Air is very light and wavering. Check them out, if u like themed albums

  • i actually know what you are talking about, i have all those albums but havent had time to get into.

    I do like Thrice!

    Cheers!

  • Yeah awsome cd for sure. I just find it a bit cheesy though, sometimes. Like... too much butter on the bread :P if you can say that in english.

  • Great, great album. Not a surprise but untill now is the masterwork of 2008.

  • heard

  • Already herd the album ; pure awesomness.

  • Excellent interview

The new song on cult of luna's myspace is awesome

eternal kingdom will be the best album of 2008 for sure..

    Cheers... from argentina!

  • so far they improved their sound with every new record. wait until you hear the song "ghost trail".

and the sound fits 100% to their crazy concept.

  • as if you'll hear or absorb anything else.. every music lover knows that that ain't for certain.. geez
