Using the lenz directly on the pan is too hot but it seems the reflection light is just right to cook with. I know a man that repairs televisions I went to his home and asked if he would let me have one of those lenzs he said sure he had plenty of them. It was late in the evening I turned the lenz and focused on a pine cone on the ground and it burst into flames in a second he was impressed,
Very nice cooking is not wiser to direct the sun ray into the centre of the frying pan instead of cooking on the side of the frying pan only. I have not try any of this ideas as I do not know where to buy the Fresnel Lens If I am able to buy one of the lens, as I am from sunny West Africa I will appreciate this more. Cokerfarm118
This lens and mirror came out of a big screen protection tv. You can see the tv it came out of in my "solar cooking, frying up some hot dogs" video at 1:16 into the video.
Your mirror didn't break on you from that distance I see but depending on the time of day and how long you have that spot on the mirror at that distance it could. I did a video of this and broke several mirrors and a pro told me to keep the mirror no more than 18 inches from the lens and surface of it should be like 140 or so I have an infrared thermometer to measure this. nice going though. And a small pan like 5 inches will work nice to do like 2 eggs quickly evenly cooked for this.
Very good. I might have moved it around a bit more while cooking so it didn't almost burn in the hot spot. Nice lens. You can't really fry with a hot box solar cooker or panel cooker, so this is a little more versatile...but you have to watch your retinas or you might be eating in the dark. I like the cooking platform..simple but effective.
Nicely done !

screw cooking machines, cooking something with solar energy has never wasted money.
