I've been wondering, I was thinking about going shadow, but i'm not big on the whole stealth/backstab spam thing. Do you know how good a tank/dps hybrid would be for a shadow in pvp?

@MrKebabGames Trooper Commando for best dps. Sage for best healings. Otherwise take Scoundrel and then there's 2 trees for damage and 1 tree for dps.

avean by dps build for guardian i dont understand if you choose gurdian dont you have to be a tank i would really love a hybrid build between gurdian and sentinel could you please explain in depth is it possible to be a gurdian with one saber and have skills between guardian and sentinel

No, a guardian can be just as dps as a sentinel can. Its just 1 of 3 spec trees that has a tank spec, also a Shadow has a tank role if you spec into that tree. Bioware have made all classes dps viable and they should be equal. Sentinels have all theyre 3 trees dps so they can dps in 3 ways, while guardian can dps in 2 ways and tank in 1. I am going dps guardian at launch btw ;)

I'm trying to decide between Shadow and Sentinel...Shadow has double bladed saber and more Force abilities, and Nolan North, but Sentinel has double bladed sabers, faster paced story (or so I've heard) and David Hayter...

So, it comes down to Drake vs Snake really.

Well every melee class has some force powers. Like a guardian has force push and saber throw, shadows can lift you up helplessly (as shown in my video) and throw stuff at you telekinetic while kicking ass with a saberstaff. And they also have force speed which lasts 2 seconds.

hehe you and many others :P Yeah, Guardians get 1 saber, Sentinels two sabers and Shadow staff. But if you really like just 1 you should look at a dps spec Guardian if you dont like tank. They have tons of cool abilities.

Thats totally up to you, but you would be a hybrid. I found the infiltration tree best for burst dps.

Im still not sure wether you do your quests alone on this game, and other players only appear when doing grp quest and in 'social hubs', or if its like wow, were people can meet anywhere in the world

Its fully interactive. You see hundreds of players all around you. Its only in special class story lines you can find yourself going into an instanced area, but mostly you will be questing with many others. There is also many flashpoints which is basicly huge group quests with tons of rewards and xp. The first you encounter already at level 10 :)

Yes :) Dont worry about that. PvP has warzones which is instanced and open pvp happens on different planets, so you are safe to quest in peace.

Ugh...you're making me want to ditch sentinels lmao. I really wanted to use two sabers, but Shadows seem like such a quality class. When I did the beta, I enjoyed the sentinel, but it felt like something was missing for me...stealth! What kind of armor do Shadows use?

They use light armor, which basicly is clothes. They wear mainly robes but you can find some pants also. gl in choosing class, cause every class is very cool haha. I think ive settled on guardian dps, but yeah, not sure lol !

Shadow yes, focusing on Infiltration tree. Jedi Shadow and Sentinel plays very differently. Both are melee and do about the same dps. Shadows have many tools at theyre disposal and stealth which is very fun in pvp. You can pick your battles. Sentinels are a bit faster and can leap 30m towards a target which also is fun. You have to decide if u want to use only sabers, or combine it with powers (shadow).

@dardi16 more prooer tip, play what you like if you think macros is gay, wich i definetly think, because it will not be you playing anymore, but you act like a machine, every duel the same macros instead of variety, and using your own reflexes even if you lose because of your own fault (i call that pvp) macros is simply cowarded, because you lack skill, or use keybinds, but macro is just gay

The black and yellow lightsaber is the preorder crystal. I really think its very ugly :P

The PvP crystal you get at Rank 50 Valor is a nice combo though, its blue and black. It looks freakin amazing.

Welcome to my club, i have no answer for that. I have no clue myself. Both these classes are very enjoable both in PvE and PvP. Shadows are like ninjas, they are more versatile in fighting. They do melee damage but needs to hit from behind to deliver top dps damage, while the Sentinel can just dish out max from any angle. Shadows can vanish amongst 5 players, so he is like Batman. Choosing the best situation.

I really do enjoy being stealthy. I played Skyrim/Oblivion as a type of Ninja once, only using a bow if I had no chance of getting a critical sneak attack with a sword (I'm not a dagger person) and I do thoroughly enjoy it but the same can be said for using Dual Swords XD and while I can use two different characters, I'm just at an impasse on what my main shall be

Personally after playing alot more now i think im gonna settle on Sentinel. Shadows are very slow at saber fighting, they rely on hitting at your back for maximum damage. In PvP vs straight up melee classes its kinda difficult. Sentinels are lightning fast and have many combos, they are more the martial arts type of class. Alot of there abilities are asian orientend, zen meditation, Shizu fighting stance and stuff like that. While shadows are more assassin type.

@Avean True, you pretty much his the nail on the head there. But one can't forget that The Shadow is able to use it's force abilities to either augment it's own attacks or weaken the enemy.

Bioware have done a great job at balancing the classes out which is also quite annoying XD
