  • FOR CRYING OUT LOUD..........ENOUGH !!!!

  • One of the cleanest bass players in the history of music. Most overall talented too!

  • @weightfeather1 LRB had both a mullet (Farnham) and a skullet (Nelson) for a few years in the 1980s.

  • They Nailed This Song!

  • Nice

  • Wayne Nelson is better on this song than Glenn Shorrock. The band originally wanted Wayne to sing this, until Shorrock cried & they let him sing it

  • Wayne Nelson is better than Shorrock on this. Oringinally this song was supposed to be Wayne until Shorrock cried about it.

  • Studio version hit #10 in Billboard, 3-6-82. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • Not true - Wayne does not own it. Glenn Shorrock sang it better

  • @SRVTOP7ALLTIME They are better --- by far.

  • @cjtinner the singer,Wayne Nelson, is American

  • I agree with you @chessic4 ...lol....that's pretty impressive chewing a gum while singing?....wow..

  • Don't see many ppl chewing gum while they sing.

  • Key West -81 or 82-ish? Had an entire bar singing along to this song. All of us coked to the gills having just returned from a long boat ride from South America.. Those were the days.

  • I love Wayne Nelson! He has such an amazing voice!

  • i just wonder, how many bands in the world would like to have wayne nelson as the lead singer, and here is the second voice, that talk s about the high quality level on LRB,besides, nobody else can chew and sing same time like him, great song and bring back good memories, thanks for posting.

  • 2:47 a 2:49 los acordes de la guitarra no concuerdan

  • @alfmad2009 You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. It's a guitar "solo" you are watching and it is not edited in any way.

  • @FreeTheRocks What is alfmas2009 saying about the guitar at 2:47? Use english please.

  • @swedeeepie He said that the guitar chords do not match.

  • @FreeTheRocks doubt if you can play all those notes without moving your left hand much

  • @alfmad2009 Again....you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. There are only 4 notes between 2:47 and 2:49.....his left had is grabbing a CHORD and his right hand is playing each string/note ONE AT A TIME.....you fucking MORON.

  • @alfmad2009 Just let it go man. Free TheRocks is right. You are wrong.

  • @alfmad2009 You don't have to move your left hand at all. Barre at 14th fret, with pinky at 17th fret. Play strings 4, 3, 2, 1. It's an A chord.

  • @alfmad2009 FreeTheRocks IS right about you..don't know your ass from a hole in the ground...what are you talking about? There's nothing dubbed or edited in the guitar solo.

  • @alfmad2009 Everyone is on key....he' playing a bass dork.

  • @alfmad2009 Speak english.If you can't,then learn.It's the language on the world.

  • @alfmad2009 Amigo, son los Little River BAnd, ellos no se equivocan.

  • THese guys were great!

  • nice hair!

  • beeb is the man thou. his best friend from zoot is rick springfield thats an amazing story in itself

  • wow...great memories of the 70's and 80's when i hear their songs...thanks so much for sharing

  • He's probably chewing his gum to keep his mouth moist. Incredible voice.

  • he chews the gum to keep his vocal chords moist , an old trick used by alot by lead singers.

  • This guy has a GREAT voice...

  • They just came Myrtle Beach..... and sounded great

  • Hilarious....chomp, chom, chomp,,,I would say yea,,,Maybe he is trying to give up smokes.....Tacky timing...OMG. LMFAO...

  • @rvelliqu I think it keeps his mouth moist. Level 42 bass player doe sit to maybe it is a bass thing

  • That gum must be good!

  • Amazing vocal arrangement. Great stuff...

  • talk about an underrated vocalist........wish i could sing like wayne!!

  • That gum had better be good! :)

  • I saw this band a couple days ago. They were amazing!

  • my mom is seeing this band next week :D hope i can go!!

  • aweome!

  • is he chewing gum?

  • @Tereso32 Yes.

  • @FreeTheRocks I guess he needs to keep his mouth moist. It looks really weird though especially when this was filmed.

  • @Tereso32 yes he is chewing gum

  • @Tereso32 YES!! Isn't he good!!! Plays bass, sings and chews gum all at the same time...WOW!!! what a fine talent!!

  • Now this guy can sing! Nelson and Farnum together is nothing short of amazing!

  • I was listening to the album version of "'Take It Easy On Me"

Shorrock starts the song singing lead a takes it right up to the chorus.

Then Nelson takes over the lead for the Chorus. It had to create some major league stress in the band. I love Shorrock, but Nelson did not make it into LRB by being dead wood either. 30 years later these guys are still a marvel!

  • Saw the band within the last year. Small venue in Pa.front row. Wayne rocks. Waited after the show so my wife could get an autograph- the guys were very gracious chatting it up with the fans! Thanks for a great evening LRB!!!

  • Saw LRB last summer in Charleston, SC at the outdoor venue at Boone Hall Plantation. Aside from the humidity (thanks SC) it was FANTASTIC !

  • Wayne Nelson owns this song. It is very difficult to play bass and sing, and he pulls it off perfectly. Great song! LRB is a prime example of why music back in the day was so much better than the crap that is out there today. Nowadays talent takes backseat to looks, style, fashion, and who they are dating. These guys are ugly as hell, yet have sold over 30 million records. And the music is so perfect. These guys have true talent. And they are still out there doing a 100+ shows a year!!

  • @MrJacutz ..well ugly is relative....everyone was ugly in 1983. these guys are on the good side of ugly for back then.

  • @rcaddict72 LOL! How very true.

  • @MrJacutz

I couldn't, have said it better myself !!! Just ask ,Christopher Cross

  • @MrJacutz Most people I have met and worked with throughout the years think one of the easiest things to do is play bass and sing at the same time.

  • @MrJacutz "Wayne Nelson owns this song. It is very difficult to play bass and sing, and he pulls it off perfectly."

WHILE CHEWING GUM NO LESS in true Wayne Nelson fashion. Yah a lot of ppl bitch about Wayne not being a legit member of LRB, but it would certainly seem he paid some serious dues with this performance,( anyone else want to try this?) & Wayne's voice IS the featured lead vocal on certain hit songs of original LRB releases. I saw Wayne this past week end,he was(amazing) top form.

  • @firstbaldwin I was skeptical to see the LRB that is touring now, but I saw them last year and you are right about Wayne Nelson, he sounds amazing.

  • @MrJacutz id bet he was the writer...cause yeah, he does. its his work, if i had to venture a guess

  • Always loved this group. Still sounds great. Classic.

  • Beautiful, amazing and all the good stuff, but I have to ask....was he chewing gum while singing?

  • @ouiseldarnoc Yeah it's his trademark, he always chews gum

  • LRB.. Their harmonies are so tight.. they're the best

  • i jus can't think about you as a friend

  • I love this song! Be proud Starlitblond :)...Haters...lol

  • Gosh I LOVE this band!!! It's one of my all time favorites!!! I'm writing from Peru (South America) Little River Band was a well-known band in my country.

  • minstrel: medeival entertainer who traveled from place to place, especially to sing and recite poetry. keep singing!

  • lol.... it's also embarassing at times to say we like them... lol... screw all those haters right..

it's fun to sing along with them wearing headphones... lol.. I don't care if people talk about me.. I am having fun..

  • These guys were just too good. Sure don't make like they use to.

  • best gum chewing singer i've ever heard!

  • I am 48 and dig this shit... I don't know how many people would admit to liking this...

one confusion... "the menstrual road without you.... ?

  • @Starlitblond I too am 48 and I have no qualms admitting to liking LRB. They are well worth it.

  • @Starlitblond Uhhh, I believe that is mistral road. lol. I'm only saying this because Heart did a song called "Mistral Wind" & it's a strong, hard, and cold wind out of the North.

  • @Starlitblond okay...I think it's minstrel. That is a travelling singer of ballads. You got me thinkin. lol. I knew he wouldn't say menstrual. I'm 38 & I LOVE LRB!

  • they dont make music like this any more its soooo good !! itsthe real stuff

  • this song is so profound...am 41 yrs. old and i feel it has always been a part of my life for so long.

  • I loved the harmonies that came out of these bands... something we kind of lack these days..

  • LOVE this song and LOVE Wayne's voice!

  • Why does Farnham stand there staring at Nelson the entire time they are singing? Is he jealous because the spotlight is not on him? And, it's just frickin wierd.

  • Because he's singing in unison with Wayne, and he wants to be as perfectly in synch as possible. It's not weird or a sign of jealousy, it's what a PROFESSIONAL singer and band does.

  • @simplygu Wayne also sang John's vocals even while John was singing. Wayne often sang just ahead of John(in the background) because John has always had trouble remembering lyrics. Wayne rarely RARELY forgets any of the lyrics whether it was his main vocal part or someone elses. Wayne was "the man" to look to if someone got lost in the song.

  • @FreeTheRocks I think that he is being careful to let Nelson lead, and is not accustomed to it. It looks like he's focusing on Nelson to keep his lead singer habits in check.

  • @simplygu Some singers need to look at each other in order to keep timing when singing together. Maybe Wayne doesn't need to look at John because Wayne is lead singer in this song, John is following him.

  • maybe hes admiring somebody singing...dummy!!!

  • @simplygu What a wanker you are,,You know very little about humans

  • I saw these guys in Columbia MO around 1990..I was indifferent to them until then. I remembered the songs, but, like seeing some bands live, the recordings did not do them justice. Marshall Tucker band was the same thing. I do remember the singer thanking His Ex-wife for leaving Him, so He could write all of thier hits...I hear Ya Bro. :)

  • Sounds better live than in studio!

  • time lapse!

  • Wayne Nelson sounds exactly like this today, everything he does in the original key of the record. The guys amazing!

  • @MrKite053 he was the one yankee to break into this aussie band

and it was all based on TALENT

  • He's singing and chewing, and doesn't miss a beat.

  • lol.,,it is his mannerism,,,like he chew a gum

  • Incredible voices, all of them. Rare to find in one band.

  • What a voice. And not even the lead singer!

  • GLen Frey said LRB was the best singing band EVER.

  • Still one of the best live vocal bands I ever heard. I've heard many. Partied with them after a gig too. Nice people, for the most part.

  • Fantastic song! This might be their absolute best song. The live vocals are incredible.

  • Nice.

  • bottom line music today sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank god for the 60 s 70 s and early 80 s

  • @dt1955jr Bands today are formed primarily for the money first and creative talent second....unfortunately. It's all about the image and marketing. MTV was the Death of R and R

  • My vocal partners hated it when I chewed gum at the mic. ....Efff that I did it anyway. Lookin for LRB Suicide Boulevard. Awesome tune. This? fabulous

  • I saw them live and was amazed at the vocal harmonies.

  • I saw them a few years about 6 years ago andthey were as good as ever!

  • WOW! And this was LIVE! Who can do this today? Anyone? Bueller..? Bueller..??

  • what a great band...Oh the good old days!!!Bodacious band did this song well from Indiana

  • udamanful said it all..These guys are amazing....Oh the good old days..Getting old really really sucks!!

  • this is one of my favorite band!!!! fuck all emo.

  • What more can you say here - real musicians playing real instruments and using their God given talent. Today's music sucks so bad. Lets see any of the corporate board room created bands like the Jonas Brothers (example) perform like this. No tricks, no voice overs, no dubbing, no lip sync just REAL music. At least we have these rare moments caught on video of bands that cared about their music - not their poster image or just the money. Ahhh... the good old days.

  • really i wish i could find fall from paradise from the little river band

  • great...says it all

  • Saw LRB in Missouri, Sept. 11. Have to say Wayne was just as good now as then!!! Go see them if you have the chance! They won't let you down! And yes, he still chews gum while he is singing!

  • I have some video I shot that he is still chewing gum in 2004! lmfao

  • Did you say his hair looked like Princess Leia? Man that's rough. Still, how many people do you know can chew and sing as flawlessly as he did, at the same time.

  • Amazing voice!!

  • Hey I love it too and he can sing, chew gum and Play Bass. Yea Man!

  • love it, hear me crying out loud!!!!!!!

  • This is mt audobiography, :(

  • Ilovmyyearbook that was a super funny comment!!! Still chuckling... He is an awesome singer and a great gum chewer

  • nay,.. it's the gerold ford dooooooo..

  • Thanks for the memories - I was 14 when I bought my first LRB record Time Exposure. I loved all the songs especially this one. Wayne sounds incredible. I saw a picture of Graham Goble on Wikipedia from 2008 - he looks just like Ricky Gervais with white hair - But then again I love Ricky too! Cheers!

  • I prefer glenn to the other vocalists in lrb.

but this version by wayne is by far the best on this tune.

his pitch is about as perfect as you can get.

  • where's the fire ?

    Dang fast.

  • It's 12 seconds faster than the original.....wow.

  • The gear was right at the intro.....Then....

    DANG! HOLD ON! LOL.

  • WOW!! he just sings it like nothing!! AWESOME!!! LOVE this song!!!

  • Incredible. Singing on perfect key with unreal feeling, rockin' the bass, AND chewing gun all at the same time. What CAN'T Wayne Nelson do?? Thanks for posting this vid.

  • I saw them 5 years ago at the 'Horny Toad' in Lake of the ozarks...I wept. they will always rock!

  • LOVE this back when music and talent counted for something. 5 talented stars.

  • No band should be allowed to have that much vocal talent...they are hogging it :)

  • Not to mention guitar talent!

  • I have Full Circle here somewhere....and it's $20 on Ebay.

  • It is not available on DVD.....or VHS. It has never been officially released.

  • A good band like Little River Band sounds just as good live as they do in the studio, if not better.

  • Is he chewing gum!!!? ha ha ha

  • i remember this show--vividly--I tried to contact HBO years ago---like you said---brick wall

  • one of the best bands ive ever heard live!
