I am still working on it but I think the size of the hands make a difference also. I have small ones so I'll practice with 38mm. Can't wait for the video..
@bioniclegods its really not. zen balls, meditation balls, zen balls, baoding balls or however you want to call them are heavy and they hit pressure points in your hands to make yourself feel relaxed. just any balls wont do.
you should do gloving. emazinglights has some budget gloves to get started, but check out their channel to see what I mean by "gloving" because in crime scene investigations, gloving is removing the skin from the hands to do a full fingerprint work-up...yeah, it's nothing like that.
@girlmusician24 Yeah I think it would be; they are really good at increasing finger dexterity and co-ordination. Using the two hands together also helps bridge the left and right brain hemispheres.
this is like my favorite baoding ball vid of all time.i have a 4 ball vid up.i was wondiring if you could send me a message on my channel with some pointers.its the 4 ball passing with 52 mm gold thats my most recent 4 ball vid.dont be afraid to hurt my feelings.
awesome!! I just got two as a present from somebody in chinatown, I'll follow your advise and strat with the practise and carry them everywhere :), really cool video!!
@spheres100 im starting off now, well actually they are being shipped to me, but you are awesome. how much practice did it take to do simple spins( none touching)??... i cant wait!!!!!!!!
@danielhinton13579 It didn't take too long to rotate the balls with out touching. To get a smooth and flowing spin did take quite a while. To make real progress you need to practice regularly, it took me a long time to fine tune the movement. Enjoy the proceess, remember it's the journey not the destination. Good luck
OWNAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. GOOD JOB
thanks for the reply.. that's exactly what i wanted to know. you have inspired me to practice more, you move the balls so incredibly fluently. i love it!
wow... you are extremely talented.. how long have you been practising for? i have a couple different size balls and am trying to become more fluent, is there any particular way you learned or was it just through trial and error?
@ciscokid8620 I have been praticing for over ten years now. It's a combination of repetition, observation, and feeling. I learnt by carry them everywhere I went, taking every opportunity to practice I could. It does evolve over time, with trial and error. I will try and make a video showing what steps I have made to get to this stage in the near future.
I would ask you for what purpose is useful to playing with this balls. I've one pair as a gift from my aunt travel to China. I have problems with my hands turning forehand and backhand will be useful for me? Thanks in advance best regards from Macedonia, Europe.
@strahusev personally I have found great benefit using Baoding Balls. From increased dexterity, concentration and better reflexes. I have also found I have healed quiker from injuries. I can't guarantee it will help you with your particular issues, but I would recommend trying it for at least 6 months. You may find that it helps you in ways you were not expecting. Good luck with it.
@strahusev I messed up my right wrist from a rollerblading fall 2 months ago. Never went to the doctors, tried squeezing a stress ball but it hurts. just recently started with the health balls and my wrist is getting better.
@MrKeinanen It depends on the size of your hands and personal preference. Baodingballs com has a guide to what is the best size for your hands. Personally I used 45mm balls for quite a while before going to the 55mm. If possible try some different sized balls before you buy and see what feels most comfortable for you. Good luck
I was just diagnosed with arthritis in my right hand and although I am not yet highly skilled, rolling a pair around in my hand gives me great relief from the pain of the arthritis. Thank you for posting this video, I now have a performance level goal to work on!
When I use mine they make contact alot. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. And they don't ring as well as yours do. Do you think it may also be the quality?
@KCGary I don't think their is a wrong way to do it. It is a process! Observation and refinement of the movement is the key. If you have seen my "6 Baoding Balls" clip you will see that I still make quite a bit of contact.
As far as the sound goes that will depend on few things. The size of the ball, the type of ball (i.e metal or enamel) will effect the resonance. How quikly the balls are moving and if they are hitting each other. And yes you can get dud balls and the chimes can wear out.
@KCGary My dad told m ethis cuz he went to china once and got some the old man told him there not suposed to clack and there suposed to stay together and if it rings alot thats a godd thing
@BarinadeBP I have been practicing for over ten years. It probable took me a couple of years of intensive practicing to be able to do some basic swaps with four balls. Everybody is different and it will depend on how good you are with each hand and that you ensure everything you learn with one hand you teach to the other hand. Don't get caught up with the goal enjoy the process.
