Mary was called "Theotokos"-Mother of God as early as the 1st century (see Ignatius-Bishop of Antioch ad 35-98) read early church fathers. The Bible was not canonized until 393 at the Catholic council of Bishops at Hippo. Before then there was no official canon and personal bibles. Still, even after Hippo the printing press was not invented until the 16th c. Nobody had personal copies of bibles in their homes for at least 1700 years. Where did the rule of faith came from The Catholic Church !

if someone do not respect your own mother you will feel bad becoz you love her. If you will not respect Jesus own mother how will he feel towards you? Mary cannot pray for us..There are no tears in heaven. Souls in heaven cannot in any way commune with us on earth. She is in heaven worshipping the Lord. We are not to pray to hear or ask her to interceed for us. It is unbiblical and against Christs teachings.

Mary is blessed because she gave birth to Jesus but Jesus is saying that the people who FOLLOW the word of God ane obey it are blessed. Mary was just one of the people that obeyed Gods word....Everyone else that obeyed God's word are blessed too. Dear Joshua, it is not idolism, for many reasons, it is "veneration" wich is very different. If you notice, nowhere in the Hail Mary it's said something to Mary like if she was a Godess or something similar, it is said "Pray for us sinners", because she can pray to the Lord just like us, and probably more effectively since She's the Lord's mother.
