  • I too thought it was weird that they chose Scottish people to play Vikings but hey the same cane be said for the Scottish Greeks in 300. Anyway, the longer Craig has been in America the more his accent has faded, I think in this movie he brought back his old stronger accent.

  • The Norsemen were from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Not only did they heavily influence Scotland, but they colonised the Ukraine and Russia, becoming the first nobles of both countries. A Viking was a word meaning long voyage in old Norse. Ferguson should have been given a role in the Hobbit, oh well.

  • There were Scottish Vikings too!

  • itd get boring if EVERYONE had a swedish accent. they mix it up.

  • Vikings invaded Scotland aswell as Sweden and Norway, the espec ially invaded and colonized Shetland which is a Scottish island above the mainland of Scotland. I grew up in Shetland and we celebrated Up-Helly-Ah which is to commemorate the Vikings.

  • How to train your dragon is primarly made for an American/English speaking audience.

Now.. If they're going for one of the most earliest.. brutish English accents closest to the North.. Scottish accent is one of the first ones that will strike your mind. That, and it's fairly close to Norway.

Anyway, Scottish accents are much more natural and pleasant sounding than Norwegian people pretending to be English. It wouldn't fit in with the high quality this movie has going for it. (I'm Norwegian)

  • @Zinodin I agree, the movie would be weird if the vikings spoke English like Thor Heyerdahl.. I'm Norwegian too.

  • "talented talk show host" understatement of the century.

  • I guess Scottish is something new for vikings in this show! ^_^

  • If everybody wants it to be in swedish, norweiegen accent or whatever just watch the dubbed, i'm from sweden and i think the dubbs here is pretty good!

  • For you maybe I was cool. Lol

  • I'm from norway, and I love the fact that they actually used scottish voices for the adults. They seem more old-fashion that way, compared to the teenagers, who speaks american. Wouldn't it be rather stupid if they made the original dub norwegian/swedish/danish, and they dub it in english, so the rest of the world could understand it? Just a thought.

  • Geeeeez why are you arguing about accents?? It's a great movie for kids and it's supposed to be fun. No kid is gonna care about accents ...

  • Well. Guess that there are more feeling in scottish accent than using the american accent. Im from sweden by the way :)

  • That was a fantastic movie!

  • kinda fail that the vikings have irish voices.

vikings are from Denmark and Sweden

  • i just saw the movie best movie ever

  • Vikings are Danish. Everybody knows that!

  • @athansen Norwegian and Swedish too mind you.

  • omg he really asked him whether it was hard to voice act because you have to imagine everything *facepalm*

  • cool, I like these

  • Be sure to see what the fans think of How to Train Your Dragon right here!

  • I'd like her to tame my dragon...

  • well i still think the movie would of been better if they had Swedish voice actors.

  • luydly7ld r rolyo,t

  • @daken100 good i mean amazing

  • bot

  • nice

  • great hot

  • By the way, that womans smile screams plastic surgery...

  • To answer the talk about vikings... They were invented by drunken scholars from Stockholm in Sweden. There were never a people who called themselves "vikings". Those who have been dubbed vikings where pirates from all over northern Europe. And they never had hornes or wings on their helmets.

  • he died with cancer yesterday..rip steve

  • Ok, what's with the "he wanted to be an astronaut" trivia in the end? Lol.

  • Well Vikings wasent only swedish and norway its more like upper left part of eourope

  • Vikings are Danish

  • I thought Vikings Was Swedish and Norweigen.... -.-

  • @cheesewald

    well they are

  • Awsome

  • @cheesewald thats where the scots originated from.

  • @cheesewald They were, I think they used the scottish accent just to see what it looks like with vikings. oh and some vikings were also norse.

  • @cheesewald Not JUST Swedish And Norwegian, But the Scottish Accents sound more.. Vikingy, And also, The Scottish vikings where more.. Barbarous. Hope this sorts it? ouo

HECK YEA FOR ME. I ISH VIKING. ROR. XDDD

  • @cheesewald so I wasn't the only one to have noticed that!

  • @LilLouise18 gargoyle!! no you are NOT the only one! Thats my awnser to that question, Louise!

  • @cheesewald Not swedish.

  • @cheesewald oh yes we are!

  • @cheesewald They don't speak English.

  • love the accent

  • I went to this movie it was awesome!

  • HOW DID I NOT HEAR ABOUT THIS MOVIE UNTILL NOW???

sheeesh living on an island in China sure isolates you....

  • why are vikings scottish

  • i report u as spam!

  • Ahaha, such sad misuse of spam report. Close minded, much? I'm part Scandinavian, myself. That still doesn't change that I think that Scottish is a good move here. It's in a fictional world anyway so there's hardly any reason to force Scandinavian accent on the vikings.

  • Scandinavian is better.. scottish is bigrish

  • Wrong. And there is no "scandinavian accent".

  • @TheJawsusNSexmanShow BECAUSE THEY CAN BE

  • @TheJawsusNSexmanShow LOTS OF PLACES HAVE A SCOTLAND.

  • @TheJawsusNSexmanShow Same reason Dwarves are Scottish. Because it works

  • If I could have one accent it would probably be a Scottish one. Good thing i'm part Scottish! Oh yeah the movie looks cool too.

  • What happened to Matt?
