@LootFragg the 5.7x28mm was built to bridge the gap between the power and light weight of the 5.56 and the compact size of the 9mm. The result is ok, but personally I see it better as a police round than a military or even a self defense round.
@LootFragg Most CCW situations are reactive by nature, which means in practically every scenario the bad guy has the advantage. Most gunfights end within the first couple of shots at close range. While the 5.7 does have reduced danger if it misses, it is a very small bullet which relies completely on its tumbling effect to instantly drop the subject. A 45 (my choice) will always stay at least 0.452" If it expands, all the better. This means the aggressor drops quicker and I live to go home IMO.

Everyone argues over MP7 vs. P90. I think I'll go with the P90 because of the higher caliber round it fires, and I'm assuming it has a longer barrel as well. I still think the MP7 is an excellent gun, but the P90 gets my vote because its stats are a bit higher

You are not considering the Cartridge of both weapons. The amunition is what makes the difference. The MP7 shoots a 4.6x30mm and balistics shows that this is a terrible amunition time for penetration and its a smaller round. The P90 on the other hand uses a 5.7x28mm which is a bigger round and depending on the type of 5.7, for example a SS190, it will penetrate through armor easily without loss of energy.
MP7 uses pistol cartridge so there is no way it would preform better than the P90.

Not at all actually, they're very close in performance. It all comes down to personal preference. The MP7 is a late-bloomer tho, the P90 came 15 years before it.
The MP7 pro's compared to the P90 are that it's smaller and lighter (but not much). The P90's advantages are that it holds more ammo, downward ejection, and that it fires a slightly larger round which does a bit more damage to fleshy targets.
Both are great at piercing soft-armour, both do the task they were designed for.

Keep in mind that FN are the only ones who make bullets for the P90. It's chambered for 5.7x28mm, and the only other gun at that calibre is the FN Five-seveN.
Dont know the names but 1 or 2 US munitions factories gained the license to produce the ammo. There were a couple news stories about it a while back, try googling it.

To modify it so that it takes the 7.62 x 39 would require a different reciever bein that the AK round is 30 % longer and at least 100% heavier...It would not be the same gun. It was designed around that new stubby 22 round..
if FN were ever to make new modifications to their design on this weapon it would beat the MP7 any day, the only reason the MP7 is concidered better is because it's designed almost 10 years later after new resources are available.
a quick way they can solve the jamming problem (i've only heard of from some ppl) with the half empty mags when you bump them around could be to make it so it only runs one way, it locks in position like a winch, and will come free when detached from the weapon.

Keep in mind that FN are the only ones who make bullets for the P90. It's chambered for 5.7x28mm, and the only other gun at that calibre is the FN Five-seveN.

Dont know the names but 1 or 2 US munitions factories gained the license to produce the ammo. There were a couple news stories about it a while back, try googling it.

wow judging by this vid, the p90 is pretty old. I never would have guessed they were that old of a model, they look so modern. after all i guess they did use em on stargate, just for a point of reference for age.

They didn't mention that the magazine on the top keeps it from getting in the way when firing from prone, or that the shells being dropped keeps from giving away a position, but I guess people would figure that out

To modify it so that it takes the 7.62 x 39 would require a different reciever bein that the AK round is 30 % longer and at least 100% heavier...It would not be the same gun. It was designed around that new stubby 22 round..

if FN were ever to make new modifications to their design on this weapon it would beat the MP7 any day, the only reason the MP7 is concidered better is because it's designed almost 10 years later after new resources are available.
a quick way they can solve the jamming problem (i've only heard of from some ppl) with the half empty mags when you bump them around could be to make it so it only runs one way, it locks in position like a winch, and will come free when detached from the weapon.
