  • @MNewby94, hello. How very kind, what a lovely comment, especially from one so young. I'm touched. Eric.

  • I don't wish for roses, nor do I care whether or not you remember which dress I wore!

    Jennie.

  • Great performance!!! I love your videos!! Regards from Italy, Giusi

  • @MusicalFeelings, bonjourno Giusi, aw, how kind, thank you so much. All the best, Eric.

Hi Friend, How are you these days?

    Nice song

  • @solsleuteltje, hi Gerda, I'm well, how are you, well too I hope. All the best, Eric.

  • it is very good!! i am very impressed! good job

  • Hi rene9548, thank you so much. All the best, Eric.

  • great job, i love this song....

  • Hi bob69g, how kind, thanks mate. Take care, Eric.

  • Paulwilson you are a music teacher? Geez, I hope you give your students their money back. There was nothing flat about his performance, there were a few notes in the middle that was a little sharp but it was never flat. But other than that, the pitch was on point.

I won't argue with your comment on vocal tone because it's all subjective. But pitch, is not a matter of opinion. But if you think he is flat, then you are probably tone deaf. Sad for your students!

  • You are completely flat and your lyrics are all wrong :P

  • Hello paulwilsonmusician, I can't say about the pitch, it seems okay to me, even if it is not to everybody's liking. As far as the words go, as far as I know they are correct. Oh, btw I suppose you know about people living in glasshouses? Eric.

  • As a Music Education trainee teacher and vocalist i'd definatley say that your pitch is very off, however you do have a voice in which to work with as you do have a good vocal tone especially on "you would be the last to know" etc. BUT this performance was indeed off pitch for the majority of the performance.

  • @paulwilsonmusician Stop being a dickhead: his singing good, its the MIDI sounds that are annoying, along with your close to the bone criticism. Well done Ukuleleric, I enjoyed your performance, but please use some samples and get rid of those annoying MIDI sounds!!!

  • @aarandir, hi mate, thanks for posting and advice. Take care, Eric.

  • Nice job man x

  • Hi carrick63, thank you very much. Eric.

  • Very well sung my man, dont listen to the critics who miss the point of why and how you did this song. Thanks.

  • malaga22, hi John, cheers chum, thanks so much. Take care, Eric.

  • ohh god thats even worse that you spent that much time then my man, we're gonna have to hit up some clubs and find you a woman

  • BOOO! Lets just keep this song to Mr. Robert Goulet please

PS who's your twin brother in the other videos where your in costume?!

  • Hello sfgiants2392, well there you go, can't win 'em all. I think if you look you will see that I have explained on my channel page that the 'other' person in the two person videos is myself. I film myself twice and then join the two vids together with a transition called split screen.

  • This is literally the best interpretation I've heard of this song since the fantastic Robert Preston. Wonderful voice, and amazing interpretation. It does my heart good to see that someone still understands the delicious callousness of this song, instead of trying to turn it into nothing but a silly, superficial love song.

  • RocktheSocks, hi Jennifer and Doris, aw, thanks so much for your eloquent comment, and complimentary comparison with Robert Preston. Yes, I did try to convey the true meaning of the words. Unfortunately, in reality, I am too old to sing it, it belongs to someone a few years younger than me. I agree with you entirely re the intepretation of some songs, whose lyrics are so clever and pithy, they require 'acting' out, as opposed to just being sung. All the best, Eric.

  • Still love this one!

    Play it a lot.

    Luv,

    Pip.

  • Hi Pip, again, sincere thanks. There's a guy with some vids on YouTube who will be doing The Edinburgh Fest this year. His name is Billy Watson and he's a Scottish stand-up and he uses the persona of a character called Nob Stewart. Cheers, Eric.

  • I like the way you do this song. Barrowman does it too pretty and ignores the real meaning of the lyric. Thans for your rendition. To bad you couldn't have his accompaniment.

  • Hi authorworld, thanks so much for your kind appraisal. Re J.B. Too bad I don't have his looks and body, lol. Take care, Eric.

  • OOh man .. ! what a great job. I loved the up tempo variation. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Hi mkearley49, thank you very much. Take care, Eric.

  • Very wisely chose a good high key. Most groan around in C major.

  • your voice is amazing!

im doing this song for an exam and you have really inspired me!

    well done!

  • Hi Jahovah1, thank you so much for your very kind comment. Good luck with your exam, best, Eric.

  • This is one of my favorite songs - and you sang it with so much intensity and full of verve. It's awesome.

    Thanks so much for it!

Btw, where did you get the arrangement from? It's great, too.:-)

    oasis3017

  • Hi oasis3017, thanks so much for your kind comment. Can't remember where I got the backing from. I think probably I downloaded it from a midi-file site. Cheers, Eric.

  • The smartest lyrical number since I heard Randy Newman's "MARIE" here on you tube

"MARIE (A love song) worth a hit. Let me know what you think Ukuleleric.

Very nice rendition on this wonderful song BTW.

  • Hi fruglescot, thanks so much. Eric.

  • So, what did you think of the lyrics in MARIE?

  • Wow! That was great!! :)

  • Hi bubbloo24, thank you so much. And folks, check out this girl's vids. If musicals have a future, this is the reason. Eric.

  • I was wondering if you'd bitten off a bit more than you could chew at the end there, Eric, but no - you've got a good strong falsetto range there!

  • HI knobstick, Cheers mate, Eric.

  • That's a great song from a great musical. I think it's Robert Preston singing on the CD I have. Anyway, you turn it into a show stopper. Well done!

  • Hi MightyMelmoth, thank you so much for your kind words. Eric.

  • a love it :D.!

    -kris
