Sir, you are an extremely talneted man, an inspiration to myself and as i read the previous comments its clear you inspire many others, all i can say is well done, very very talented and simply never stop :) thank you so much
Paulwilson you are a music teacher? Geez, I hope you give your students their money back. There was nothing flat about his performance, there were a few notes in the middle that was a little sharp but it was never flat. But other than that, the pitch was on point.
I won't argue with your comment on vocal tone because it's all subjective. But pitch, is not a matter of opinion. But if you think he is flat, then you are probably tone deaf. Sad for your students!
Hello paulwilsonmusician, I can't say about the pitch, it seems okay to me, even if it is not to everybody's liking. As far as the words go, as far as I know they are correct. Oh, btw I suppose you know about people living in glasshouses? Eric.
As a Music Education trainee teacher and vocalist i'd definatley say that your pitch is very off, however you do have a voice in which to work with as you do have a good vocal tone especially on "you would be the last to know" etc. BUT this performance was indeed off pitch for the majority of the performance.
@paulwilsonmusician Stop being a dickhead: his singing good, its the MIDI sounds that are annoying, along with your close to the bone criticism. Well done Ukuleleric, I enjoyed your performance, but please use some samples and get rid of those annoying MIDI sounds!!!
Hello sfgiants2392, well there you go, can't win 'em all. I think if you look you will see that I have explained on my channel page that the 'other' person in the two person videos is myself. I film myself twice and then join the two vids together with a transition called split screen.
This is literally the best interpretation I've heard of this song since the fantastic Robert Preston. Wonderful voice, and amazing interpretation. It does my heart good to see that someone still understands the delicious callousness of this song, instead of trying to turn it into nothing but a silly, superficial love song.
RocktheSocks, hi Jennifer and Doris, aw, thanks so much for your eloquent comment, and complimentary comparison with Robert Preston. Yes, I did try to convey the true meaning of the words. Unfortunately, in reality, I am too old to sing it, it belongs to someone a few years younger than me. I agree with you entirely re the intepretation of some songs, whose lyrics are so clever and pithy, they require 'acting' out, as opposed to just being sung. All the best, Eric.
Hi Pip, again, sincere thanks. There's a guy with some vids on YouTube who will be doing The Edinburgh Fest this year. His name is Billy Watson and he's a Scottish stand-up and he uses the persona of a character called Nob Stewart. Cheers, Eric.
I like the way you do this song. Barrowman does it too pretty and ignores the real meaning of the lyric. Thans for your rendition. To bad you couldn't have his accompaniment.
Hi oasis3017, thanks so much for your kind comment. Can't remember where I got the backing from. I think probably I downloaded it from a midi-file site. Cheers, Eric.
your expressions are as great as your singing eric...more please and soon ...love to see you blacked up and doing a few of the old b w minstrels stuff..sonny boy would be great
Hi billyboggins, thank you for compliment but re minstrel stuff, ooooohh, I daren't. Got away with it years ago but they'd lynch me now. All the best, Eric.
Eric, I've not yet seen "Mack and Mabel", and that was the first time I'd ever heard that song. It really is a lovely one, and you sang it, and performed it beautifully. :)
