  • You're a friggin' magician with those balls!

  • lol awesome

  • Hey thats some nice ball handling there :D

  • Words cannot describe the awkwardness I was expecting when I clicked on this video.

  • i was hoping to see some testacles.............show me some real balls

  • it is a bit hypnotizing isn't it?? especially the part with the large and small balls

  • i see a guitar pick ! do these balls really help with guitar playing ?

  • @marshalmathers These help with finger strength and dexterity, so yes. They've definitely helped me over the years. I originally started using these balls to keep my left hand limber for guitar playing.

  • @Thisnomyp One question if i may, is there a way to undestand the mechanics of the motion ? or it's just a lot of practice ? (i am trying for 3 months but not so much progress lol)

  • @savulescuvali Good question. Not an easy one to answer, either. I was planning on doing a new video about some general hand exercises soon, so I will add a part in there for you. I've been thinking all day about a good way to describe it and I think I can help. What size balls are you using? Also, how long do you practice at a time? When I started, I was so determined to learn that I would sometimes practice for hours at a time. Practicing longer gives your hands time to learn muscle memory.

  • theres are my lager set...lmao

  • @Martinjls This video is old. I've got much bigger balls now. Everyone who comes over my house sees all my balls and wants to play with them. :D

  • Nice Post. I saw on the vid a guitar pick. Do you play guitar? Did the Baoding Balls help with your guitar playing?

  • @HalonXPR Thanks. yeah, I've been playing guitar since I was 15. I originally started with Baoding balls 10 yrs ago to help with guitar, and it definitely does help. But, to get good at guitar, you have to practice guitar. I'm 29 now and I know that I'll never be a great guitarist, but I am one of the best I've seen at Baoding. This video is old, check out my newer ones. I've got more techniques I need to get on video. I do have a guitar video, also.

  • Thanks! I will check your videos!!

  • i like balls...

  • Chinese balls, also known as Baoding balls, are believed to have originated from the Baoding region of China during the Ming dynasty. Rotating the Baoding balls in one hand one should try to maintain constant contact between them whilst being able to switch the direction of rotation. The eventual aim is to be able to rotate the balls without them making contact with one another. These exercises increase both grip and forearm strength and require much practice.

  • Absolutely correct. In addition, "Chinese practitioners claim that muscles remain nimble, bones are strengthened and the mind kept sober through prolonged usage of the health balls. Other benefits are blood circulates more freely, and different chronic diseases such as hypertension are kept from developing. In time (in terms of many years of practicing Baoding balls use) the brain becomes healthier and you will notice that your intelligence and memory improves."

  • I took that from a website. Not sure how much is true, although after more than 10 years of using them I would def. say my memory is better than average. I also read recently that stone balls are best to use because the metal will drain your Qi energy as opposed to ones that do not have metal contacting the skin, which increase your Qi flow.

  • Dose it matter if the balls are touching when spinning with a pair of them?

  • No, that's not important at first. It'll be impossible to keep them separated. Start slow, allowing them to touch. Then, try to slowly pass them around while separated. You'll learn a little more every time you pick them up. It only took me a week with daily practice to get them to stay separated, but it takes months, if not years after that to perfect.

  • Thanks TP

  • COOOOOOOOOL wer can u get thos big ball things theyre kinda cool u klnow if ur like watchin tv or waiting for something u can jus fiddle wit them in ut hands :) wat they called?

  • Thanks! They're called by a few names. Chinese exercise balls or Baoding balls are what I usually call them. That's exactly how I started- just sitting on the couch watching tv. Then I started walking around with them when I got better. You can get them at stores that sell asian gifts, or online. The large ones you'll probably have to go online to find. Most stores only carry the smaller to medium sized ones.

  • are they magnetic or something? thats some trippy ass shit to watch

  • Nope. They are not magnetic at all. I've been using them for about 10 years with my left hand, so i've just gotten a lot of practice. Thanks!

  • well its like you made one float lol thats crazy

  • My other videos are better. This was the first one I posted before I could do it with my right hand, too. I randomly became re-obsessed with them after a few years of not really using them. Once you start playing with your balls it's hard to stop.

  • lol true that

  • what should I get? ordinary golf balls for a cheap price or actual baoding balls? and should I get chiming ones or not? I want them to get better dexterity and the seem pretty fun

  • Golf balls are a little light for my tastes. They're good for practicing multiples, but a real set of Baoding balls is better to start with, in my opinion. Golf balls are good if you're learning to walk around with them, or are worried about dropping them on a hard surface. Baoding balls aren't that expensive. You can find them online or in stores for about 7-10 bucks a set. A package of 6 golf balls cost me 6 bucks at wal-mart. It's actually hard to find non-chiming or stone ones in stores.

  • ok thanks because my friend has bucketfuls of golfballs and I really want a real one, hmm not sure between dragon and phoenix version or pure chrome bu im leaning towards pure chrome Xp

  • I've found that golf balls that have been used are sometimes a little tacky and are harder to spin when they're touching. I don't know why this is exactly. But it might help learning with 2 because they'll stick to your palm better. Very hard to do 3 or 4, though. They're addicting to collect. I have 7 sets of chrome, 5 sets of dragon/phoenix, 2 sets of stone, 2 sets of dolphins, 2 sets of sun/moon, 1 set of 8 ball, and 2 sets of 2 1/2" clear acrylic (what people think are crystal).

  • Cool thanks and where do you get yours? I think Im going to start a collection and Iml get my friends involved since we always do the same thing

  • Nice video.. I am starting to learn guitar and I heard that these help increase dexterity. You said you play guitar.. do you think that these should help? I just got my first set yesterday, so I am excited to begin practicing!

  • Oh, and I looked at your other videos.. nice tattoo. I was just at a Buckethead concert last night... he is amazing!

  • And thank you. I'm very happy with the finished result. Buckethead is awesome live. Lucky for me, he plays near here fairly regularly. I guess you could safely say I'm a pretty big fan...

  • Yeah he comes around here about once a year, sometimes more... so I have been enjoying seeing him live the last few years. I believe that you inspired my next tattoo... not sure what it will be yet, but something buckethead-ish. Hehehe... anyway thanks for the info bro

  • Using chinese therapy balls definitely helps hand dexterity as well as strength. I started using them after a friend of mine who plays trumpet recommended them. When spun smoothly, every muscle in the hand, wrist, and forearm are working in harmony. I focused on my left hand for guitar. I'm only now getting good with my right hand. It's also great for typists, pianists, etc. It doesn't take long to learn, either. A good tip is to practice with them for 20-30 min. before practicing guitar.

  • i found my dads last night, the same stainless steel kind, and ive gotten them to not touch for the most part (they touch like 30% of the time as of now), and lol, its really addicting!

  • Haha. Awesome! Yeah, I know the feeling. I've been trying to learn to do 4 lately, and I noticed the other day that I had been doing it for over 3 hours!

  • hah, hopefully that didnt take away too much time from what you were supposed to do :P

  • This is how you really spin those balls! Good work man, helped a ton just by looking at how you do it.

  • Thanks, dude. Keep practicing and you'll get it in no time. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or need any tips.
