I got a new iPod touch 4g for Christmas and I have Windows XP. I've been doing exactly as you do in this video. Pictures work fine, but when I try to play the videos I get nothing but the audio and flashing colored lights for video. Why aren't they working? :\

Videos that you recorded wont play on your computer? or videos you put on your ipod from your computer? if they wont play on xp then you probably don't have the necessary codecs installed. install VLC and play them with that. or download K-lite codec pack and then it should work in windows media player. but VLC  is what most people prefer. just type these things into Google you can easily find the download links there.

@TheSmoothoperate If you want the applications folder on the bottom on the deck u just go to finder and on search you type in 'appliations' and it should show up. Then you hold on it and drag it to the deck and it is added to the deck. :-) simple.

@decasas18 on a Mac just select Export in Quicktime and you will see the option to export to iPod or iPhone. on Windows download a program called H.264 Encoder. run your video through that program and then pu tit into your DCIM folder on the ipoad through My computer. Simple. :-)

ok so i did that before i watched the video, i have the pc, and i want to use my ipod to make videos, and put them into movie maker because its been a long time since i uploaded anything and i just got this ipod touch 4g, so once i get them on to computer is there any way to use them in movie maker becuase i use windows live movie maker and it shows gray screen with little red x in middle of the squre and i push play and it shows like 5 seconds of sound, im getting irritated lol

@Jeffrey43122 live movie maker dose not support the format that ios records in. you have to change it. install a program on your computer called h.264 encoder. its free just google it you will find it. select your video in the first box. select where you want it to save in the second box. select quality i always choose same as input. then you will end up with a copy of the video in a format windows live movie maker likes.

@HippyThe i have never had an issue with that program. maybe try reinstaling it. if that dosent work then try a different converter. go to download dot com and search for .mov converter. you want touse one that converts .mov into either avi or wmv. avi is mac and pc compatible so i would go with avi if i had a choice.

Your video spoke my mind! I thought I could finally move forward with my life. Unfortunately, when I open Image Capture, it is showing my iPhone device (currently NOT connected) and is not refreshing to the device currently connected (my daughter's iPod). The iPod is showing up in iTunes, and System Profiler, so the computer is seeing it -- but, Image Capture and iPhoto do not. Any chance you might know what I can do?
