If you noobs want to play this on xp/vista/7 ,just click properties on the application and click "compatible with windows 95"(or something like that).
Man, was that first mission really that easy? It was all so long ago, and I was so young I didn't know anything about strategy... I can remember it being almost impossible! There was one mission that still haunts me however...
Did it ever confuse people that during the cutscenes, Tanya was very soft spoken, yet her voice in during the game is really fucking intense and righteous?
this old version is the shit, but W.T.F , it wont work on my windows 7, , will work on a pc thats 20 years old tecnoligy but windows 7 cant run a simple old game, if anyone can tell me how i can play it that be the shit, pleaseee , fukin pissed , love this old game and cant play it .
@EnclaveCommander2277 dude 2 things, 1 this game is now FREEWARE, 2 even if you did have to pay for it IT WOULD BE LIKE 3 DOLLARS. i must say though i still play this game on windows 7, ive played it ever since it came out and still do, its kickass and way better than #3 and 2
HAHAHAHAHAHAH I just shit my pants (Tanya)..... Its like some one at EA was like we need one of the graphics guys to make an animation for the movies... Fuck it just use real people we can use the rest of the budget to get a kick ass game song... that is how hells march was created !
i remember playing the shit out of this in 4th grade staying up during the wee hours of the night and playing skirmishes and drawing maps out for a base during class. ah, i miss those days.
can anyone plz tell me if it is possible to get this game to work on Windows XP? think my PC specs is a 3.2GHz dule core 4 gig ram and G-Force FX9200 screen card. Would very much like to play this ecpic game again. looking forward to any advice. Thx
It workt on xp, U need the XP path. type to google Red Alert xp PATH, download it, Change the ra95.exe contabilititi. Workt for me. But its better to run in dos mode.
Get Command & Conquer: The First Decade. It works on most XP PC's... I have it installed on Windows 7 x64 and it works fine, no glitches (apart from colour issues on the menus).
I just looked up how to play this game on Vista, I saw that EA Games made this game FREE due to the release of Red Alert 3!!!! And when you download it, it works for XP and Vista to!!!!!
Man, I wish this game came with a tutorial. I didn't even know those things were turrets until they killed all my guys. Heck, the first time I beat the first level I didn't even realize that I had a stick-figure Einstien in my squad until I sent everyone I obliterated the entire base and sent everyone to the chopper. Lucky the little dink didn't get killed!:P
I got the EA promo download, which I don't think came with a manual(or proper install instructions), so no tutorial for me. I don't think I could've followed a written tutorial anyways.
Can this game REALLY run on DosBOX? I don't want to screw around getting a old Win95 program to work on this 64-bit system, because anything Win95 and\or otherwise 16-bit programs, will refuse to run, because the dumbass's at Microsoft removed NTVDM and other critical functions from WinXP x64 edition, so all compatibility is broken for me... I hate those assholes..
That's awesome. Is the music CD though? I read that EA is providing free .ISO images of the Red Alert 1, but I thought .ISO's don't contain the CD audio?
Well, the link in the description leads directly to EA's website where you can get the CD images. The music is stored there as game data, not as separate audio tracks.
I have but only one problem but an excruciatingly painly one with Red Alert, and a bizzare one mind you. The A.I is crippled in skirmish, their knowledge on the tech tree is non-existant being unable to build a radar dome. However if playing an online match with additional A.I opponents they can successfully build just about any structure, how odd that the A.I works signifacantly better during online play. Cherished memories nevertheless Thank you.
Oh yeah, I forgot I actually downloaded this when they were releasing RA3. I should really give it a go. Back in those days we didn't have all the activation kind of crap.
Their is a method to install and play Red Alert in XP. First of all find to the installation or setup.exe file located on the CD drive, changing the compatibility setting to "Windows 95" will trick the installation program into thinking your using an old OS. Next search for "Strike Team XWIS" on Google. If my memory serves you have to locate a file called thipx32.dll on their website which allows RA to run through Windows.
