  • This is so sweet. The way you say such sweet things to her to make her come to you. We have a 12 year old saddlerbed gelding named Caraman who was just diagnosed with laminitis. He is everything to me and I'd do anything to make sure he makes it. Knowing that this mare is recovering from her condition really boosts my confidence. Thank you so much for posting and I hope your pretty girl is alright. :)

  • Hi TBird, I have lots and lots of good things to share with you but not sure how I can communicate with you privately. One thing for SURE is walk, walk, walk your mare. It's the most important thing you can do for her. Trust me. My vet, all vets say complete rest but without walking and engaging the hoof to circulate blood it will get worse. Also you mare is probably processing abscesses which are painful. Walking will help. Please help me figure out how we can talk via email. Can help

  • Hi overlooked, how's your mare doing? I have been told that our mare has EMS and she has had the laminitus that goes with it for 2 months now. Orinally the vet said to box rest her which I did for 5 weeks but she was getting no better. I've started to turn her out now. But I'm in a delimah wether to walk her out or not. With laminitus you're supposed to rest them arn't you, but with EMS they need the exercise to lower the insulin levels. I really don't know what to do for the best.
