Not to mention John says "most people are so ungrateful to be alive, but not you, not anymore" at the end of Saw 1, hinting that Gordon won, as he said it to Amanda when she won her game. No, John didn't have a choice when to wake up, he was using uh something that made him sleep, also Lawrence pretty much failed so, as he didn't kill Adam, Adam won his game, but Amanda fucked it up.
No, the stuff John used didn't make him unconscious. He just said it'd slow down his heart rate so his muscles would be more relaxed and less tense. In one of the flashbacks at the end of Saw 1, you see John with one of his eyes peeked open, looking at Adam. He even shocked them during the time, lol it was obvious he wasn't sleeping.
Why would John sleep through one of his games anyway? Cmon, think "saw". He needs to make sure everything goes according to the game and that Zepp isn't tricked by them.
i was wondering something on the tape it told lawrence to follow his heart and he did his heart told him to cut off his foot and escape to help his family...
