@haienbleurgh Currently it doesnt, but a few soldiers in the infantry have their "wings". The NZSAS conducts most of the "paratrooper" type operations in the NZDF along with the New Zealand Air Force.

@haienbleurgh No not that I know off, there are'nt enough soldiers to form an actual Para unit. However I may be wrong. At the most a Coy of Paras which would combine all units within the Army e.g. Infantry, Armoured, Artillary etc.... But I doubt the Army would pull these soldiers away from their parent units. Besides we are a peaceful nation. There is hardly any need to form such a unit.

As for the rest, my grandad's unit apparently spent a lot of dangerous time trying to bury Americans properly at Casino. He felt from his experience they should take more care as soldiers he told me. He also told me friendly fire was always an issue with them. Just one recounted view , Bro. He was though a gentle and quiet man but served with honour in both world wars.

The New Zealanders like the Australians feel grateful to the United States for saving them in WW2. They owe England nothing. England and the United States enjoy the Special Relationship. Mate I have just returned to NZ after 18 years working in the Northern Hemisphere (I have Irish citizenship as well) in roles as diverse as professional deer hunter, yacht skipper, construction management, plumber, pipefitter, business owner blah blah blah. great vid :) i came to visit the nzdf in burnham a couple years ago and gave a jetkunedo demo and had alot of fun with them...i spent the whole week there and felt more welcome then any other army base in the world.
