@myersjonathon Phil Gordon had a lot of respect for Chip, and I have a lot of respect for both of them. No, Gordon isn't a superstar like Ivey, but he involves himself in the more theoretical aspects of the game, such as books and commentary. Hes also one of the nicer people in the poker world, so you should think about giving him a little more respect, especially when hes in a video mourning one of his friends.

@G00DFELLAZ Though Gordon had a stake in the company, and was a member of team full tilt, I don't know where you got the idea that he was involved in the unfortunate activities of Bitar, Lederrer and Ferguson. Gordon was in the same boat as his fellow team full tilt members when he found out about all of the mismanagement and fraudulent behavior going on in the company he had a piece of. He was cleared of all of the accusations against him, and quite frankly, for a good reason.

Chip died in his sleep in on december 4th 2007 of a pneumonia while friends specualed he died of a gastric bypass. When Patrik cried tears came down my eyes. Is been almost 3 years now, and im still sad about it...not only a great player but a true gentleman in the whole definition. RIP Chip, your legacy will not be forgotten. We love you!

I never met Chip Reese. I wish I did. I find him ver y admirable. A gambler who put his family first, left poker games when he was stuck big to go watch his son's Little League game -- that's a true gentleman. Someone we can all learn from.

Chip never cared for the camera's and tourny over hype. He grinded his fortune in the biggest game in the world for decades, and never needed media attention after poker got big on TV. Guys like him come around once or twice a lifetime. Respect to the king of high stakes. Class act.

For those that don't know, Chip Reese wrote the 7-card Stud section in Doyle Brunson's Super System. He's regarded by the pros as the best poker player for his all-around skills in any game. It's a shame we didn't get to see him in action as much as some of the other pros. I attribute my game in Stud to his advise and was thrilled to watch him win the inaugural HORSE championship. As a poker player, I will miss this man because he inspired me to be the best I can be in all the games. RIP.

I heard it the day he died. I think a friend of mine played a tournament that day, and he heard it and told me. He really is the legend nobody knows. I have never seen the man play, but he was certainly the one player I was waiting for to appear on High Stakes Poker or Poker After Dark.

At least he seemed to have a happy and successful life. The story of Stu Ungar broke my heart... With Chip at least you know that he made the best of it while he was with us.
