I could of overdose and any day, hour, minute, or second but this world was to much for me to handle. I hung out with the people I most hated just to get high. These drugs controlled me but I did love the taste, the high, the fact that i was on top of the world. Untill I was saved by God.

Consider the factor that no musician can write something completely original that no one has ever heard of. Music has been around for so long for that to happen. They may be able to write something to make it a little more interesting, but not completely brand new. If it doesn't appeal to you, then that's your respected opinion, but Of Mice and Men is still going to make music the way they want to.

I feel the same way with a lot of other music. It doesn't mean that the more technical something is means the better, but there's a difference between simple yet still being good and being uncreative and repetitive. I could look up a lot of other metalcore bands and they'd sound the same. Heck, I'm IN a metalcore band, but as a guitarist I try to make riffs/breakdowns musically interesting. Again, I am not hating, feel free to rock out to this. I'm just looking at it from a musical standpoint.

If you care to listen to my band when we put stuff up you'd see I put time into my riffs and guitar solos. My favorite guitarist is Jeff Loomis of Nevermore, and he's possibly one of the greatest guitarists alive. I'm a musician who's incredibly into technical music, but I'm not at such a high level of that yet, but I do what I can.
