@LostTheTrain Audacity should work fine with it since Audacity only cares about where it should listen to get audio input.. In my example, I'm using Audacity to record a clip of music from my iPhone. In my case,I have the mixer hooked up to the PC via the USB UCA222 rather than to the inputs of the soundcard of the PC. I had to config Audacity to listen to the USB port. If you connect it to your PC soundcard input, just make sure you have Audacity configured to listen to it.
@Ookarl01 This mixer will accept upto 4 mono mics. It will also accept upto 4 stereo audio inputs. Behringer makes other models that have even more inputs.
@jkurtzman1 Yes, that is correct. In total, there are 12 input channels (4 mono, 4 stereo (4 left, 4 right). So, it's a pretty versatile mixer. If you need more channels than this, they do make those. They also make some having fewer. All depends on your particular need.
@JCH34DR1PP3RCJ I'm certainly no expert. I'm a hobbyist. I'm just relaying my own personal experience with this mixer. IF there is anything that I mention in the review that is factually in error, please point it out and I will gladly correct it. However, after re-watching it, I can't find any substantive errors and it operates for me as I have described.
@FailmoarCA With this particular mixer, the 3 knobs on each mono channel (under the gain knob) controls the equalizer. You can influence low, med, and high ranges using these. You'll note that the stereo channels do not have any equalizer knobs, so no control for that. I have not experimented to see if any of the built in FX can influence base - you might check the manual on that. Otherwise, you might have torely on your audio software to enhance the base beyond what the mixer is capable.
@afiqfalif sounds like you may have your gain up to high or the device you are sending sound to the mixer level is set too high. If the device has volume control, make sure it is not setup all the way - try a low setting first, and then increase until you get the level you like but where you do not get noise. Of course, the device could just be producing too much noise. Make sure it is clean - hook up head phones to it first.
I recently bought a Behringer Xenyx USB and noticed that when you turn it on or off a spike of electicity or something else gets sent through the system a sort of loud 'POP' if you have speakers plugged in - is that normal?
@chiron2009 any kind of power spike can cause unwanted popping unless the device it well designed to absorb such spikes via capacitors. Every time a device is turned on, there will be a spike. I have not experienced this issue with my Xenyx, but mine does not have the USB is built in hence I have to use the UCA222, and my Xenyx is always powered up.
@c3ndhol Cool. It's a nice little mixer. I know some people give Behringer a bad rap for some reason. A guy at Sam Ash told me his mixer started having problems after a year or so of use. We'll see - so far, I'm pretty happy with it.
What devices are you connecting to the mixer? What do you use yours for mostly?
@c3ndhol Thanks for telling us about your experience. I think this mixer can benefit a number of different uses from podcasting, audiomxing and overdubbing for videos, musical instrument integration (as you are doing), and many others.
@afiqfalif Meke sure your gain and level for the mic are at least mid-level, and your Master Volume is up to an appropriate level (I usually set mine at the +0 db level), Turn up your Phones/Control Room level is up to at least midlevel or higher. Make sure you do not have your CD/Tape-TO-Control button depressed as this prevents the audio from going to the headphones.
can you use this with fl studio or cubase?

@kyl3GEE I haven't tried it personnally, but I can see no reason it would not work with any audio editting software.

I just ordered that same audio interface but I was wondering does Audacity work with it or will I have to use a different editing software???

So how many drum microphones could i plug into this?

@Ookarl01 You could technically have 8 mono channels because on stereo channels when a cable is connected to the left input only it becomes mono.
