  • Cool video! Search pet TickleMe Plant to grow the house plant that moves and closes its leaves when you Tickle it!

  • Nom.

  • lookst like the fly forgot to read the sign on the pot...

  • i thought flies were wayyy faster than this one

  • i love fly traps! mine keep swallowing each other

  • That was cool

  • Works althow when you put a finger inside....

  • 4 people are flies

  • thats a really healthy looking fly trap

  • I always wanted to ask this... if I put my finger on her mouth, she will bite me?

  • @theocruz02 bite? just two leaves coming together. i mean it will shut on your finger but it won't hurt. buts its not very nice to do to the plant. its take a lot of ATP to make the plant clothes it "jaws"

  • @theocruz02 it will close, well, try to close when you put ur finger in

  • I THOUGHT THEY SNAPPED SHUT.

    NOT CLOSED SLOWLY..

  • @TheCourtneyy101 LOL read informations^^^^^^, then you know when she does what and why

  • Damn i bet that fly is so uncomfortable, he almost got away but now he doesnt even have space to move

  • Next time put your hand in it

  • fly: Wait no.NOOOOO

  • well no wonder flys r so attracted to them! they look like tasty watermelon!

  • the other day in art class i captured a fly with my hands, took its wings off, and put it in some paint so that it couldn't really walk .

  • @tobyhawk828 o__o bored, huh?

  • @Bleak its school, what did you expect? ._.

  • What would it do to a finger?

  • @m3rl1ns1mm0ns Nothing, but if u do it to much the plant will die...

  • Fly fail.

  • Too bad the fly didnt understand the scientist terms

  • Fly: *Sniff sniff* Crap no food! *flytrap shuts" WAOH! oh! Oh!! not good.. v.v

  • since when the fuck don't flys fly away super quick like when i try to smack em

  • @ghoop44 Because they don't know what the fuck is going on when the ground folds in on them.

  • carnavine used bite

  • who needs flyswatterd when u gotsa pro right here!

  • Nice. My plant is very athletic Lol.

  • OWNED

  • looks like he entered the no fly zone!

  • It's kind of gross because u never know where that fly came from

  • its like a mine field for flies! owned!

  • you can see it moving around in its mouth XD

  • THE FLY GOT OWNED!!!

  • i wonder where the fly goes.

  • same here. lol

  • @bentilblow999 It is digested by juices but the exoskeleton is sometimes left behind :]

  • If you need help with your VFT check out my VFT care video. Its the first vid you'll see on my page and its less than 2 min.

  • that fly is HUUUUGE!

  • :D:D:D

  • haha the fly is like lalalalalalalalal then when the venus fly trap closes the fly is like oh snap ahh get me outta here

  • LOL... But sometimes when they get too red mine died like in 3 days... Maybe cause it was getting too old anyway

  • the main problem with venus flytraps is that they are EXTREEMELY vunerably to airborne fungi, the 1st venus flytrap i got dies in 3 days too,but the 2nd venus flytrap i had,

i put it in a sterilised plastic container, away from direct sunlight, not much watering, and fungicide. it lasted for about

5 months until i ran out of fungicide and it dies soon after.

aqpparently the fungicide:'captane' does the job for fungi.

problem is i can't find it in any supermarket.

  • @infoseeker228 I bought one and sat it in a dish of water outside in full sun with nothing (no fungicides, pesticides, fertilizers) and it is doing fine.

  • No it was getting too much sunlight.

  • BS THe more sun, the healtheir your plant will be.

  • Not if it's getting cooked it's not =/

  • IF you get one that has been in bad (low light) growing conditions then you need to acclimate it to full sun. My Vfts love my californian dessert sun all day long.

  • it's a wet land plant. Usually low to the ground and in mild to cooler climates. If you have it in direct sunlight and it heats up too much for too long. It will cook it.

Now if you have a plant out on an overcast day with "full sunlight" then, in my personal experience, it thrives better. At least with the VFT i've had.

  • NAtural brush fires make it so that the Vft can still recieve lots of sun. Mabey we just haave had different experiences. But the people at the website sarracenia North West grow thiers in full sun.

  • I dunno hmmm....mine were really healthy in the 'full sun' they got. But it's cooler here too. So that could attribute to the not cooking them thing.

  • YEa, Ive noticed that some of the healthiest vfts Ive seen are often growing in super bright indirect light, like through shade cloth or somthing.

  • i grow mine in full sun too. and it is actually healthy enough to flower each year and only be kind of sluggish for a week. but for my nepenthes, i grow it in a small amount of shade, but that studio vibe guy seems to not know anything. but mine have never gotten "cooked". they just love all that sun they get

  • Ya I have a couple that fkower also... or atleast they tried to. I cut the flower stem because both plants had been divided, one of them just in the last week. In spring and summer if I dont sheild my Nepenthes from miday sun they will die! The californian dessert heat would cook them within an hour Im sure. Aslong as I put them in bright with some filterd light aswell ( under pine trees) they produce plenty of pitchers for me.

  • that is how i do my nepenthes also. i have a nice big pine tree in my front yard that works perfect. and in illinois, it would probably take about an hour and a half.

  • no, flytraps love sun. its their main source of energy. (the bigs provide nitrogen, and only nitrogen and minerals)

  • wrong. it was getting to little sunlight

  • I have just purchased 5 seeds from E-Bay for £2.04 delivered after watching this vid.. I want one! I want one!

  • i once tried to feed mine a grasshopper. it jumped out right before the trap closed. however, it then landed into another trap, wich instantly snapped shut. lol

  • @Oetierules lol I just got my venus, does it need direct sunlight or is room temp and indirect sunlight through the window okay?

  • @alivingsecret direct. TRUST ME. leave it outside, it will catch on its own but give it a constant supply of water. and dont listen to other ppl because it will eat dead bugs. they just have to be juicy

  • @Oetierules that's hilarious! what a Shakespearean way to die!

  • @Oetierules LOL

  • @Oetierules not funny u asshole!

  • Those look pretty good, isn't is said that the more red they get, the better?

  • it just means they have lots of sunlight. so yes

  • HAHAHA ! YOU GOT OWNED!

  • hahah >:D you got owned bitch!

  • At 0:30- Fly: What's happening?!?!- NOOOOOO...*snaps* (muffled fly-ish screams)

  • @IgnisGlaci

    Pedo Plant strikes again!

  • @IgnisGlaci I bought one not very long ago, but what happens is. there are 3 prickles on each side of the leaf, once it touchest 2 of them the leaf triggers and closes. those 3 prickles are like little more down on the leaf. so whenever something walks on the prickles, first on one of them and then on the other. the leaf closes. then he crushes it so the prey dies. and the next day its open again with a dead fly in the leaf(which he slowly eats from).

  • am going 2 have night mears seeing that flying getting eatten alive.....i'll watch it again lol

  • Comment removed

  • ahaha funny man!

  • muahahahaha

  • the fly is like WHAT IS THIS SHIT!?!?!?

  • It's so amazing how God created those plants to do that.

  • god didnt create anything so shut up

  • fuck u

  • you can tell that those are very healthy

  • MOEWHAHAHA Evil Plant XP

  • XD i got one of those plants MUaHAhahhAHAHahhah

  • sme mwahahqa

  • cool!!

  • nice

  • pretty cool.

  • wow!amazing video!

  • nice man

  • omfg so amazing

  • thats the nastiest flie ive ever seen its nose or whatever is huge

  • Flies think theyre all tricky and stuff, then they just walk into the middle of the plant.

  • How many years has this plant? I have one of 2 years and she is very small. why will be?

  • PWN'D haha. That is one healthy looking plant.

  • I have one of these, but a different type, mine is huge and kept in a greenhouse, mine is about 3ft long and can eat medium sized birds.

  • Pah! I have the cyber version -it has infra red triggered steel traps that look like a miniature burger bar and catches fruffles.

  • Ha,i see you have no life, that you need to lie about evert thing , Go fuck you're mom you 5 year old

  • wow, beautiful plant. I have one as well, but it's not nearly as spectacular.

  • I have one too, though mine is small. I got it 3 days ago. Not sure if you'd know the answer to this question but I'm going to ask it anyway - My one seems to have small green bushes/algae round the traps on top of the soil. Is this normal?

    Thanks :)

  • Yes it is. More importantly -make sure it stays somewhere in your house where it will get LOTS of sunlight and keep it wet with unpolluted rainwater (or if that's difficult to get, boiled kettle water that has cooled). Don't let it dry out at all (it's a swamp plant).

  • how do they close that fast? and how do they feel te fly? hydraulics?

  • tiny sensors that line the inside of the leaves, like tiny teeth.

  • There are about three "trigger hairs" on the inside of the traps -touch one once: nothing, twice: it will close. They can close MUCH faster if the surrounding air is warmer.

  • The leaves were closing and the fly was like OH SHIT!

  • gotta say, it ain't bad....but why did the trap close like that?

  • lol fly got owned. it was 2 late

  • COOOOL! ^_~

  • The coolest plants are the carnivourous ones XD

  • u got a really pretty VF right there!

  • yay!

  • hehe owned

  • yo sick usage of smoothcam, bro

  • OMNOMNOMNOMNOM

  • Probably the best comment I've seen on youtube, ever.

  • when my mom got a plant like that i got to tooth picks and stuck them on each side and he closed he mouth, it was weired

  • you shouldn't really do that. you are right though it is cool

  • i watched in slow motion when it closes i swear i could here the fly say Noooooooooo!!!

  • That fly should have dug and eaten its way out of there. That's what I would have done.

  • This variety's really hard to find in my area. :3 Is it true you can feed them raw hamburger?

  • NO. feeding them hamburger makes them die. u can only feed them insects, which can be found naturally as they grow wildly in a small part of south & north carolina,USA

  • Thanks, Green. ^-^ The happy little old lady at the plant shop had told me I can feed them beef heart, but...I'd rather not risk it. I've got a fruit fly invasion in my house, and I've always wanted a venus fly trap (I even picked out a name for it), I'll do more research on individual species and their climate preferences before I get one. He'll go nicely next to my shield aralia, Spot. :)

  • welcome.insects that fly r good to venus flytraps.lol fruit fly invasion? actually u can also look out in youtube to make a simple flytrap that attracts them in n traps[prevent getting out] them with rotten bananas

  • You know, looks like my VFT was smarter than I tough, because the next day, he opened the mouth, where I put the piece of meat that I gave him the day before.

Well, now I know you shouldn't feed them with meat, but in nature they are eating as well frogs and mice?

  • no no no no!!!! What ever you do do not feed it anything but bugs!!!

  • I have a venus fly trap.

  • TAKE THAT YOU STUPID BAGA!!!

    :P

  • weedy lil fly cant even push its way out of a plant!

  • the flytraps look like watermelons =D

  • Natura jest piękna.:)

  • bug: ahh let me out!!!

    VFT: i dont think so...

  • hmm good cam oh and ye vft looks good 2

  • haha the fly is probebly dead dont let it go lol :)

  • lol.kool. more !!!!!

  • that fucker wanted out!

  • OWNED.

  • gotcha!!!

  • THIS is a great video of a VFT catching a fly! Not the usual boring video in which a stupid one put an insect into the trap.

  • What happen to the fly??

Is it dead? Or it will be released soon after??

where can I get the plant? Maybe it can help reduce numbers of flies in my house... Lol

  • try on ebay ;)
