No disrespect, but anybody saying that the US version is inferior to this is out of their mind. This looks like the rough, unaired pilot of the US version that the creator shopped to networks before the show was bought and recast. It's a great blueprint but the US version is polished, perfected and you can understand it without subtitles.

It's a matter of style. Most British TV shows are rougher than US shows, it's just the way they do things. I personally like the rougher style of British TV for this particular show because Shameless is supposed to be raunchy and kinda whimsical, I think.

And the only reason why you can't understand it without subtitles is because you're not British (I'm guessing).

Look, I'm as much of a deluded James fangirl as everyone else, but why are people always saying that James is too good for Ann Marie? Like "Good for him for overlooking her appearance!"? She's a great actress, and she's freaking beautiful. I loved watching Shameless when Fiona and Steve were on it because they had such great chemistry (wonder why! =] ). It's awesome that they're together in real life.
