I had heard that Marty Robbins could sing in the Hawaiian Language in high Falsetto, but this is the first time that I heard it. Thanks tarquin for the post.
My goodness, how beautiful! This was some singer! I recently read his childhood story as told by his twin sister Mamie. It broke my heart to read how poor they were and the difficulties they encountered in their childhood. Nevertheless, Marty rose above it all and became one of the best, if not the best, singer/performer and remained humble throughout it all. Rest in peace dear one with your devoted wife and the rest of your band members.
A beautiful instrumental version of this song was recorded by Bill Haley & His Comets(!!) on their album "Strictly Instrumental", featuring their steel guitarist Billy Williamson...
Yes, he did write a western novel called 'The Small Man' which I have never read. How easy it is to obtain could be problematical; I've never seen it on e-bay.
this shows the extent in which marty would dabble, and does it perfectly...man what a talent. the most underrated musician of all time. god he was great. god bless marty robbins.
Lovely
