  • Yeah it only takes some person to hit that spam button. Who knows why anyone would do that. Thanks for reposting what I had said.

  • When David Briggs was producing "Boys Light Up" he wanted more material so Guy gave James the cassette to play to him. He decided it was a good fit for Crawl and of course the rest is history. It was the catalyst that resulted in Guy being asked to join Australian Crawl.

  • At the time when Downhearted was released Guy was still playing with The Flatheads around Melbourne. We still had it in our set list after Crawl released it. People would come up to us an ask why we were playing an Australian Crawl cover song. We would try to explain we weren't and Crawl were covering our song. So funny. The first recording of it was a rough cassette take when Guy, Sean Higgins and myself worked on it in a garage in Chelsea.

  • @aussietv2, I saw this morning that Nigel posted a comment on here last night. However, it's been flagged as spam for some reason. Nigel was my source last night about Guy not knowing how to play sax. I shared this clip on 'The Crawl Fans' group on Facebook, when Nigel related the story to us. I just wanted to let you know that Nigel's comment is legitimate, as he was one of Guy's best friends.

  • Guy had no clue about playing sax. This is total acting for the video. But he does it with a straight face even though the rest of the band is laughing. The sax player who actually played this solo was Bill Harrower, a session player Crawl hired for the recording.

  • @nigelgspencer I'm not sure why your comment was flagged as spam.

  • @nigelgspencer Yeah, I kinda figured Guy never played sax. Didn't he Join Crawl in late 1980, officially? I don't know why it was flagged as spam either. Youtube does weird stuff like that. Thanks for the info.

  • @aussietv2 I've just been informed by someone who knew Guy and the boys, who played with Guy in another band before Guy joined Australian Crawl. Your instincts were correct. No Guy couldn't play the sax.

  • This is brilliant. Thank you for posting this.

  • cont great work thanks .
