yeaaahh!!! real garage! reminds me of growing up as kid in the 90s and my dad spinning his 1210s! what has happened to dance music???! i only listen to underground House music now
@afctupassion Check out Jamie George and Mr Roska old school UK heads who hooked up to make something awesome they've got some vids on here wonderful day remix and a couple of others I think
Matt the oak knows, Garage is amazin. The mature sound woud've carried it in the right direction, Not that new age garafe isnt good but you would've found 'Real Garage' would be played a lot more and a lot more crassic tracks would've been produced.
ONe of the all time greats, THIS is what garage sounds like in my head. If all garage sounded this mature, it would have carved a very different name for itself.
@MattTheOak its because this is speed garage, the uk garage scene that came along afterwards was crap so ppl think all garage is shit, when really the early stuff is nothing like what people think of when they think of garage
@MattTheOak Garage music came about from the NY house music scene and is also origanally a US style of dance music much the same as house music is, DJs over here (UK) started palying it, but played it at a faster tempo, then producers atarted producing there own garage but at the faster tempo of which the DJs played out the US garage, hence the name speed garage, I am very aware of dance music genre history.
@MattTheOak I dont really understand why u have such a problem with the name speed garage when that is what it is, Maybe its because u find the name embarrassing? or maybe its because u thought the name was made up by the ali g show lol.
@krazyjuicedan Jesus, that is one of the most painfully awful insults I think I've ever read. Here's a little C&P for you, rather than argue, open your mind and accept you might be wrong:
"...Today, Speed Garage tracks are recorded at that tempo to start with, and the phrase "speed garage" often leads to cries of "Don't use the 'S' word!" from the movers and shakers within the scene.
"We don't use the name "speed garage" - we commonly call it 'underground' or "underground garage"..."
@MattTheOak i did actually say that they started to produce it at the tempo they played out the old US stuff, "Garage music came about from the NY house music scene and is also origanally a US style of dance music much the same as house music is, DJs over here (UK) started palying it, but played it at a faster tempo, then producers atarted producing there own garage but at the faster tempo of which the DJs played out the US garage, hence the name speed garage".
@MattTheOak I can understand people calling it underground though or underground garage i have also heard it been called 4x4 garage. Whats in a name lots of people still call that sub genre speed garage, because it separates it from 2 step, Narrows it down more to the 4 beats a bar style more than just saying the word garage. I just find it sad that when i say garage to mates they think so solid crew pffffft.
