Cholera thanks so much for posting that, I just got into watching sc and was so confused on msl, osl, etc, this certainly cleared things up. It very overwhelming just jumping in and watching random games. do you have some links to some of those games you were showing, like firebathero crying, going into water, doing flip etc

Wow,  that was a really helpful run down of the Korean Starcraft scene. I was always confused about the MSL/MSt stuff and knowing that I can now go on to make banners for SC2GG without a doubt now.

So this is why I haven't seen any vids up from Cholera in a while :). I wish they didn't have so many leagues, it just makes it hard to follow. You start to figure this stuff out the more you watch games, but this certainly would have helped a lot a few months ago when I started watching. The video clips were great..I think super newbies who don't know about SC programming need a more general video that introduces pro starcraft, without all the league info, like some of the other suggestions.

I have been watching pro Starcraft off and on for a while now but I still have a question.

I always hear that different maps favor a certain race. What features of a map make it favorable to a particular race?

things like high ground, number and length of paths between bases, open space, size of ramps, number of gas expansions, "island" expansion, distance to natural expansions

some maps like blue storm have very little space behind the minerals at the natural with a cliff that means zerg can harass terrans with mutis without much fear of getting surrounded by marines AND only be visible for the split second it takes to make an attack making it very favorable to Z over T

Like pzhang87 was saying, all those factors come together to create an advantage for a certain race.

For example, Python is considered to be a Zerg friendly map because the middle is completely open and it's relativlely easy to hold expansions as Zerg if you put lurkers on the top of the ramps.
