some beautiful fish you got there :3! I got a green terror and a ... damn i forget the name for the yellow ones.... then some texas, a flowerhorn.. among others x3
But yours is niiice <3 ... nice clean tank too, you have an algae eater or just use that chemical that gets rid of it for you?
Great vid, but be carefull. I had a tank similar to yours, and in the end the male electric yellow killed all my colorfull cichlids every other day. By the way, what was the name of your deep red one?
my tank is malawi but this makes me want to add some south and central american fish to my aquarium , nice set up keep up the good work check out my tank
Beautiful! Yes I have a canister filter Magnum 350 and my tank is ALWAYS that clear! Love the fish. You might have issues with the Terror and Dempsey yes but maybe not. I had a very docile Dempsey who was in with Angels!!! If you could believe it! YOu never know! Lovely!
If you took the Green Terror out and made a second South American aquarium it would be a lot better. Africans and South Americans should never be kept together. They require different water parameters and the South Americans grow over 3 times larger than a African Cichlid(apart from the Convict and Fire Mouth). They are also way more aggressive than the Africans.
what types of cichlids are in this video i notice the frontosa and the electric yellow but whats the other types in there im tryin to build a new tank and looking for fish and i like how you put yours together looks real nice
WOW! your tank looks so beautiful and your fish are so colorful. Your whole tank is like the closes of having a saltwater aquarium with it's colorful fish and all without the difficulties that comes along with having a saltwater tank.
Your Tank looks very clean, I hope it stays this way, I found the only filter thats worth anything IS THE EXTERNAL CANISTER one, and my CIchlids did real good w/it
If you have your GT acclimated to living with the Front and other Africans, and there is little to no fighting, never remove him:P. How often do you find a GT that will tolerate being in an aquarium with those tank mates? soooo lucky... Also, GTs can handle the high pH and water hardness easily, they are a very adaptable species, just make sure that once there is any sort of fighting you take him out because the others might not make it.
awesome how you trust green terrors in with ur front. i'm so protective of my frontosa. if anything picks on it at all it's out. he's still only about 3 or 4 inches though. still a lil guy
Very cool! And Cichlids are tough. They'll be fine. I love them cuz accept for a few varieties (Discus) you can't kill them. Very pretty assortment. You may need a bigger tank eventually though. Some of those bad boys gonna get big! lol
Very nice, love the fish, but is not good to mix fish from different waters, there you have Victoria, Malawi, Tanganika Lakes and even some New World Cichlids, they do fine, but the water parameters are too different and can have secondary effects at long time, but still, love your tank. 5/5.
cool fish dribble but you need more rocks stacked higher with more holes for fish to hide in .. also if those plants is real they will trash them an clog ya filter .. good number of fish for size of tank not overcrowded like others here
"cichlids", dosen't mean just africans. Oscars, Jack Dempseys, Green Terrors, Red Devils, and don't quote me on it, but I think I've even heard Angelfish are all cichlids. If you want africans, just remember they are territorial, and need some space, as well as an elevated PH level.
God damn... theres just everything :/ couldn't you just go with one kind of fish. I bet they are havin some bad time swimming around with no partners :/
Take the green terror out. Africans and South Americans are totally different, its like putting dogs and cats in the same room - they don't understand eachother, and they don't have the same needs.
Besides, the green terror is gorgeous - he should have his own tank. =P
yeah they're different, but they get along just fine and are healthy. In fact I added another female green terror and they breed every 30-40 days and are doing great still.......by the way my cat and dog play together all the time:)
@Jacobcfuller they actually do fine together, Ive got mixed africans with jewels, a couple green terrors, and other south american fish like pink tail chalceus.
I dont know why people is always so worry about mixin up cichlids, from Africa and South America? this is a perfect example that if you take care of them, they'll live just fine, nice colors, nice fins, and always hungry, love this tank. I'm working on my 125g,hope to get it done soon, and put up some videos.
Amazing tank. I just got my first cichlid tank and I have no clue of the fishes in it. We have a few common. Could you please name all of yours. I could check their care on the net.
How many gallon is your tank? You got some really beautiful fishs and a nice setup. I would imagine that the large frontosa is the dominant figure that would chase the other around. Do they all get along?
