Slitherine Studios ? The guys that did the "top of the notch" programm they use in this "Deadliest Warrior" show ? No thanks, I think I'll pass on this one...
Just because somethign is not likely to happen does nto mean it is impossible. When you say it was destroyed do you mean it surrendered or routed because morale dropped too low? This is the most likely outcome from an artillery strike and not uncommon in reality.
Anyone else gotten some really improbable combat results???? Like losing a kingtiger to artillery??? or not getting a hit on a tank at one square range with your tank while you are stationary??? or losing your tank to an enemy tank while it was moving at 6 squares away???
this game was playtested by asl players.. they really know their stuff!! in my opinion (not that it matters!), this is the best strategy game EVER! i've had most of them too!! and their ongoing forum, and brilliant after sales help, really make this shine...every few days they add something to it,.there's rumours of a hotseat version coming out too. i've just completed every mission and it starts easy but gets a lot harder!! then, just when you think you're good enough, go onto multiplayer! lol!
@goku21060 well yes, you're right there, ..but then there's 'nothing new under the sun' to quote.. and hey i'm a guitarist not a warmonger!! , but until you've beat a few of these minds in multiplayer (not me!..i'm no good either.) i wouldn't be so quick to judge.. this game is more like chess, .. do i take it you're not keen on chess to? cos every chess game is the same too.. you've played one, you've played them all...what games do you like?
@ianrandell personally for me, these types of games I rather ancient times I was just never that into gun warfare it felt to easy and to cheap in my opinion but yea I do agree with you on that whever you play a game that promote strategy there will always be challenges from people that play it as well. I just wish they made a game that just wasn't warfare and about you know your kingdom as well.

There are dozens of games like that - litterally DOZENS. Go to the matrix site, try Paradox site, try the Stardock site, look at Strategy First site. In fact, I can only guess you've never looked for the game style you describe, because they are all over the place.
I've seen nothing but good reviews from wargamers on this. It's not meant to be a RTS or anything like it, so your comment is STUPID. Maybe you don't know what REAL wargaming is. Not CoH or anything like it you idiot! It's all turn based.
@battalionwarskira99 I just bought the game, and what a nice surprise - it's great game! Graphics have a cartoon quality to it, which at first may dissapoint some, but it really does look nice. Gameplay is simple, but has a very effective combat system. Its a lot of fun!
Id like to see an expansion, like maybe the Eastern Front or Pacific scenarios. Slitheine has a real winner here!

want to try this game but no demo, and retail price is actually pretty high for an independent company.
Despite this being a niche in the market, its still hard to find the right one, and made in modern times.
Some of the strategy games turned into life combat. And feels like CoH, instead of a strategy game.
Played Men of War, which i kind of like.
Guess im looking for a board game equivalent. Turn based but great 3d graphics. Turn based but players can have reactive movement or fire.
