@littlejames10 you should prob spend your money on a cheaper guitar...unless you've been playing for 20 years which I doubt if your watching this video...GIbson's are good but I realized they aren't worth the money for what they are these days, better to spend all that money on a prs or something with more options of different sounds you can get and just better quality in general..

I tried one, it's a nice guitar. Still, IF you're going for a Gibson, go for the higher end models (around 1500). Gibson does make nice guitars, the tribute humbucker IS better than the Epiphone standards/customs but you'd have to be lucky to find the one that you like. If you want consistent quality for a low price, and a guitar that plays like a freaking dream, go for PRS!

pretty much directional picking. it's hard for most stuff, but easier/natural for some licks. I don't know why he said all downs when he slowed it down. maybe it is, could be wrong.

At 5:00 it's kind of misleading. You're over emphasizing the right hand as all down strokes. Then as you speed up you begin to alternate pick. I know it becomes common sense as you start to play the riff faster, but again... it's somewhat misleading if you're not paying close attention to your right hand.

@Stratomacaster Good observation, but I'm wondering if he's actually doing economy picking there (i.e. down-down-up-up). It seems that way to me the more I look, but it's hard to tell. What do you think?

Personally, as I practice the lick, my right hand seems to naturally fall into the economy pattern; I'm definitely not as fast If I force myself to alternate pick.

Is anyone out there actually able to do this lick fast and clean with just down strokes??
