Other than the slappy slap strikes at the end, which I'm sure are not supposed to be the actual strikes, I think this looks like good stuff. A lot of Tai Chi elements in there, but mixed with that awesome Russian sensibility.
Thankyou for sharing the waveform concepts on this video.Full respect to you,Systema is a great Martial Art long may it rein as the champion of all. Regards to you...
yeah,I'm a Taijiquan instructor myself but I have already integrated systema drills in my teaching...it's all about becoming aware of your body, of your possibilities, it's all about freedom of movement and expression -physically, mentally and spiritually. I think that's why it's possible for taiji and systema to meet...these are the ...meeting points. both of them respect the same principles.
Systema is kindda Taichi basics applied in combat. Especially for those coming from an external martial art this whole "ballet" is pretty damn difficult to grasp and comprehend - it takes flexibility of both body but especially mind and those practicing external martial arts tend sometimes to acquire too far a greatly developed ego to let it go and accept another perspective on things.
LeviathanAngel is right - this applies the same priciples as Taichi and the latter is indeed far more complex for anyone without a previous practice or at least opening to it to understand.
im impressed with this style got to get some video,s im in cartersville ga. north of atlanta, what the best in your opinion, style i mean, or do you mix
Not that superficial, fundamental: both want complete relaxation and flow of movements, both move with incoming force, and both use body mechanics to use full body force. Taichi has more form, Systema is more fight oriented.
@perten agreed. This is DEADLY effective stuff alright. What I find interesting about the blocking striking redirecting movement is that it is akin to the way primates fight in the wild, whose body structure and mechanics are similar to our own. You dont see two chimps or gorilla, "kickboxing" each other in the jungle. The movement is more fluid and circular like this. GREAT stuff.
@patrickhenrysghost No no no, you see if you want to have a grown up discussion you need to have some facts or experience on which to base your argument on. Just saying the same thing over doesn't really cut it
@patrickhenrysghost sometimes, a comment says a whole lot more about its author that about its subject-matter. why not walk into the nearest systema club and express your views, make a vid of the result and post it? i am sure it will be very interesting for all to see...

Some superficial similarities but no more than that. And far wider reaching in its practicality and general application

Depends on which Taichi School and the instructor. I study Chen Taichi and it also focus on applications than just forms.

I wouldn't say kuntao was shitty, though IME it isn't as comperehensive as they System. Different training methods too
