@TactiFred And what about my cull US Mint silver dollars that are all beat to shit? I got these from provident metals under their wholesale bullion, and they look like hell. I paid $26.42 for each 1 oz. silver coin. I would love to see them shine! Is it a good idea to do this to my horrible looking silver dollars? They are Morgan and Peace coins...
@2012UFOTruthSeeker thats completely up to you...yes it will shine them up[ really good, but if you get them graded after you shine them they might grade it as a polished Morgan. Meaning that its not in its original condition, but if you just want them to look good and you dont care about the original condition then go for it. But they are worth more if they have their original patina
@TactiFred Sweeeeeeet! I can give a rats ass what coin collectors think about my BULLION. Shit, the reason why I collect is for after 2012 when FIAT money fails, and the Chinese, Zombies or Aliens (or all three) start invading us and killing everyone. My shiny coins will buy me extra bullets. Woo hoo!
your probably right I have used dremels but only to cut and shape courds, and your right i used to polish some small marble boxes that i made by cutting up 1 foot square bloacks like tile thick and have had one of them go sailing across the shop with a buffing wheel.
I did this with a bunch of bicentennial quarters last year....you should have seen the guy at the gas station. You could tell he was a coin collector. I bet he thought they were proof coins LOL!!
you have to tell them that coin could fly across the room and bag something or somebody, try regular cleaner first and then if you wwant that polished look takes a lot shorter time, good idea for present, I always giove the year and try to find one that is 100 years old also. but nice job but be careful it will fly out of your hand. thanks Rocky
@rocky315w my Dremel doesnt spin that fast, even at full power it wouldn't fly across the room. If you had an angle grinder with a buffing wheel that would be a different story..
kool they almost look like proofs

@CableRocks Isn't there a way to prevent that though? Like airtight containers, etc? Has to be a way. I like SHINY SHINY coins...
2012UFOTruthSeeker 2 months ago
@2012UFOTruthSeeker I think you can do that. Exposure to oxygen is what's going to do it, so you can definitely store them to prevent that.
