This camera position is amazing. Watched the Senna movie a couple of weeks ago and all the onboard footage was from this sort of angle. Looks so much better than a foot or so above the driver like it is nower days. F1, Bring it back!

I like this new layout very much, the straights from the national and international circuits combined into the gran prix circuit. I'm gonna miss bridge corner though! Maybe they could rotate it between Arena and Grand prix circuits every year?

@theultimateforce fast corner do nothing for the spectacle apart from creating a procession of fast cars going round a fast corner. On the other hand, a long straight then heavy braking for approach at a slow corner does promote overtaking.

@Pantomime4castaways I don't know why so many people cheered when the BBC got the rights to do F1 in favour of ITV. James Allen is far better than the guy who currently does it (Mark Lee?). Jake Humphrey is also very boring and tries too hard. I like Steve Rider and the old crew actually.

Wow, this new layout is not good. I really liked the old layout where the last part had those sweeps. This one it seems has truncated much of the spirit of the old circuit.

It's a shame to lose Bridge, a real shame, and I did have my doubts about how the new section would work out, but after seeing this video I'm now enlightened. What can I say? From Club to Arena at full throttle is going to look spectacular! I wonder if anyone is going to be brave enough to even go flat out.

@Varsher To be fair we havent lost it completely. It is still possible to use that layout, so watch out for it in the Formula Renault, BTCC and Porsche Carrerra events, amongst others =)

@AlonsoRules Hardly fair, the Donington layout - had it been finished - would have been much better than this. Silverstone is a very boring circuit, very little elevaion changes, no 'brave' corners that put your heart in your mouth - except bridge (downwards off camber right hander? yes please!). Donny would have been magic, but it failed, and that is no one but Bernie Ecclestones fault.

This will take some getting used to. I can't wait for the race this season. I hope this hearlds a new era of F1 tracks - intregrating the old classics with modern fan/race philosophies. We would all rather have a re-vamped Silverstone than a brand new Istanbul Park.

@colpow11 Would we? Turn 8 at Turkey is the greatest corner in F1 and possibly all of motorsport. Turkey is a great track in general, the only issue is the lack of crowds. Maybe you should've said a re-vamped Silverstone than a brand new Abu Dhabi, which isn't anywhere near as good as Turkey.
