The really horrifying thing is that in all likelihood the results of an attack would actually be worse than in here. I kind of doubt the terrorists would just leave evidence lying about in their house, they would probably use different kinds of vans and switch the license plates as well. although on the flip side, the response to such attacks would probably be a bit better today.
I'd say we're probably a lot more prepared today than back in 2003. The emergency services have more CBRN suits and the Fire Service has more Mass Decontamination Units. Most importantly there has been more training and exercises to test procedures.
I don't think that we can ever be 100% prepared against this sort of thing, but what is in place now will cut down casualties significantly and save a lot of lives.
Look on the bright side, you're more likely to be killed by a bus ;-)
Btw IIRC the 7/7 terrorists did leave a significant paper trail, but I'd have to read 'The Terrorist Hunters' again to confirm that. They did make sure they were carrying documents that would ID them.
Interesting movie, thanks for the upload. Luckily the real attack wasn't as pictured here. Fundamentalist religious persons can be really dangerous though.
