It is very hard to say "I love you" to an ex-boyfriend-turned-bestfriend. Though I do love him. Platonically. We need more different words for "love" in English.
Everyone. My girlfriend, my parents, my friends; my extended family. I just don't understand the meaning of the word love. I don't understand the PURPOSE of it as well. Therefore I can't really categorize something into a category I cannot confidently say exists for me.
I love my sister. But we had a shaky childhood growing up and now we just can't say it to each other. Or show it physically with like hugsnstuff. we just buy each other stuff and joke a lot and secretly do nice things for each other. Hopefully I can change that. Maybe Esther Day can help

@stude444 Actually, John said it correctly. He said "Join with Esther and me," and if you think about it, when you take out the "Esther" and make it simply "Join with me," it's correct. Meanwhile, you wouldn't say "Join with I." But I think you made a very common mistake, because more often than not, people really do misuse the word "me." :-)

Two years ago, knowing that time was running out (my father being 82 and in slow failing health), & with the "help" of a lil' alcohol, I sucked it up & told him, "Dad, I love you." Valentines day is about telling the significent other in your life you love them where as Esther day in my mind is telling those who are your family or friends, that you have the hardest time telling. That you love them. If you are implying that we should get rid of valentines day and just have Esther day I have no qualms.

God...She died only about 20 days after her 16th birthday. RIA Esther I literally startered watching the vlog brothers four days ago. Fell in love with them and then found an Esther vid. Found johns video of her death and cried for the whole thing. She was right, people live on in the people they have touched and in the people who will remember them.

I feel as though when you become a teenager it can be easier to tell someone who is not your significant other that you love them. Teenagers can profess love easily sometimes. It's strange for me going backwards because I only really started watching these videos yesterday and I've got back to this point. I only found out there was an Esther this afternoon and by then she was already gone. I used to worry about putting 'love' into birthday cards and when I wrote it as a kid people would laugh. The hardest people to profess your love to are your friends, because they're the people you've chosen to love and we're all a tiny bit afriad that they might not choose us back.

My parents. I haven't told them that I love them since I was young. God...She died only about 20 days after her 16th birthday. RIA Esther I literally startered watching the vlog brothers four days ago. Fell in love with them and then found an Esther vid. Found johns video of her death and cried for the whole thing. She was right, people live on in the people they have touched and in the people who will remember them.

I was actually talking about this the other day...about how much I never tell my friends how much I appreciate them and love them and how much it means to me that they're a part of my life...
I love all of my friends, because you can never run out of love (thank you Davey Wavey who taught me this powerful lesson), those who were in my past, my present and the friends I've yet to make.
And I love Nerdfighteria - because it makes me happy to be part of a community full of so many rad people.

I think it's hard to say "I love you" to my brother because he used to beat me up all the time and ruin my hopes and dreams. As a younger sister, that isn't entirely necessary on his behalf. But, I do love my brother, and I love him more now that I don't actually see or talk to him on a daily basis, but I do get excited to see him whenever I get a chance to. :)

I feel as though when you become a teenager it can be easier to tell someone who is not your significant other that you love them. Teenagers can profess love easily sometimes. I'm still a teen myself, but I feel the complexity of love feels understood, but that's not the case. We can give it and take it away so easily because we're young. It's strange for me going backwards because I only really started watching these videos yesterday and I've got back to this point. I only found out there was an Esther this afternoon and by then she was already gone. I used to worry about putting 'love' into birthday cards and when I wrote it as a kid people would laugh. The hardest people to profess your love to are your friends, because they're the people you've chosen to love and we're all a tiny bit afriad that they might not choose us back.

I think that the two people that I have the hardest time saying "I love you" to is my two sisters. My older sister is a really tough person and its hard to get past to rough shell. And my little sister is super preppy, and usually rolls her eyes when I say something that she thinks is stupid. I love you, Heather and Ashley. You will never see this comment because the video is for nerds.

I don't find it hard to tell people that I love them, but I try not to overuse the prase so whenever I do say it its special. I also like telling people I love them when they think I dont know they're upset or confused but I do. I just hope they believe me!

My parents. I haven't told them that I love them since I was young. After the abuse shananagins and then the whole being sent to court by them and the foster care that followed that, it's just a bit tough to say or even feel that. It makes me uncomfortable even thinking about it. Please respond. Your input means a lot to me.

@MelisAnonymous I know I don't know you, nor am I who you were hoping would respond, and I also know that my response holds nothing that you could possibly consider anything valid. BUT. These videos and the community in which I recently have been introduced often make me wish to do things I generally wouldn't and am not entirely sure how they would end, but only with the hope that I may be heard or that I may have helped in some way. SO.

@MelisAnonymous Yes, I think you should at least consider if not attempt saying that you love them. I know I very rarely if at all say it to my own parents, and we have been through some rather difficult and interesting experiences on a whole but even if you're someone whose been through nothing or the best of things or the worst of things saying I love you to those that created you has a almost guaranteed noticeable effect. Even though they may not say it back they will appreciate that

First, I saw you! You blinked two times in this video!! Secondly, just before I was going to type that comment my browser crashed on me, so I reloaded my session and all my tabs. In my session I had a youtube video I had been listening to over and over for the past few days, I mention this because the song I was listening to is called "Make you feel my love" it is the cover of the song done by Adele.
