he probably used a soft pencil, if u look he/she smudges the drawing for shading, look for some sort of art pencils and look for high number B pencils, like B5, those are the soft ones, H5 would be hard and u cant smudg what u draw

not sure if this will help you, but I learned to draw from old comic books...spiderman, wolverine, batman. Then my folks put through summer art schools when I was a wee lad. Haven't drawn in about 5 years, but I did enter into competitions and such when I was younger...did pretty good as well.

Try something simple such as an orange or an apple. Or, try tracing a picture, just to help with your mind on seeing the different shapes that are part of each picture.

it seems like most of the badass drawings have no real stratagy to them, like it's somthing not unique that they have done so many times they just start throwing down slopy lines and then a skull apears from no where and evolves into this amazing work of art, is this a style of drawing? starting at the front and moving to the back? i allways need to outline my work first but mines shit compared to some, im not trashing your at. it's like you mentaly trace it from the back of your mind.
