I normally hate Mecha Animes because all the technologies that would make them viable in real life could be applied to conventional vehicles and be better for it (IE the armour, the power plant, the ECM/ECS etc) however,

A) Due to the nature of "black technology" it's unlikely they know HOW to apply AS technology to Tanks, since they barely understand AS tech as it is.

B) As we see in this episode, Tanks can still be potentially lethal against AS, at least ones without a Lambda Driver.

Mech catrtoons have come along way since I was a kid.

But the one thing I aint seen yet is an animea or cartton based on a fictional conflict useing only real world weapons and machines. There is one out called AREA 88 but's kind of old =)

Modern planes, tank's, APC's, IFV's, helicopters, etc. One bigass war animea, find away to put a story somewhere in it and cool. It could be done with this animation.

To me, 95% of most Gundam series have slow, uneventful plots and dull characters, not to mention that the fights are pretty boring most of the time. Full Metal Panic!, on the other hand, moves at a mile a minute, with intense warfare, fun and lovable characters and stories packed with action, comedy and drama. I really, really can't wait for Kyoto Animation to make a season four. The rest of the novels need to be animated ASAP.

@EvilFingers They use the first episode more as advertisement so that people can see and decide whether or not they enjoy the dub. They sell the box sets/episodes in America dubbed which is why they don't put up the episodes on youtube dubbed. It would cause them to lose money.
