Well you must either be a kid, or a really sucessful person financially, because most grown wrestlers feel, usually like I "i spent hundreds of dollars every seaon on camps and sweated my ass off and worked and worked, and now that high school/college is over , and im not going to the olympics, i wont use my training? fuck that, MMA time" i know thats what happened for me, its just a natural transition. basically you learn subs and how to throw your hands, then you're a fighter.

i assume that you are responding to me... i dont think that my lack of olympic gold medals means that i am not informed enough in the sport of wrestling to say that rulon is not one of the greatest US wrestlers. If you objectively look at his accomplishments its obvious-- the best he ever did in a style that involved a complete mastery of wrestling was 1st in the NJCAA and 4th in the NCAA (Greco Roman wrestling although difficult does not involve every aspect of wrestling).

To say he is on the same tier as wrestlers who have been successful in styles that require a mastery of the entire scope of wrestling, would not give them enough credit for what they have done. if you want to say he is the best greco-roman wrestler from the US that's fair. And if i cant comment because i dont have any gold medals would be saying that: Carl Adams, Wade Shalles, Bobby Douglas, and Pat Smith couldnt say anything eiher... I think they are more than qualified to comment
