  • how come the audio drops out so often?

  • These are very boring people!

  • What? Benedict hit the nail on the head there. What kind of conversations do you find interesting?

  • What nail was that then?

  • The nail about greed taking precedence over creativity.

  • I do agree he had a point there. Except, things go in and out of fashion and in about 15 -20 years from now we could be saying "they don't make programs like they used to when I was young, well had all those wonderful reallity shows not like now when all they ever seem to have on the tele is drama's and make-believe and performing seals.

  • Well yeah, things do come and go. Every generation says the grass was greener in their day. Now that you mention it, I wonder what TV will be like in 15 - 20 years. I dont even watch much TV anymore personally, but I'm somewhat curious to see how things develop... Maybe it'll get REALLY bad! :P

  • There used to be just 5 channels so everybody watched much the same thing and discussed it next day at work etc. Now everything is fragmented. But, we do tend to all watch certain major popular progs - X Factor, Strictly CD, BB,and maybe American Idol. These are the main most popular progs of today. Everyone a reallity show. They will either run their course and finish or they will get worse ie: more cruel for more thrills and so on. Doesn't sound hopeful. Who knows? Ask me in 15years!

  • Maybe they'll have live beheadings and executions and the like. We havent evolved much since Roman times, people love blood! Just got to desensitize them gradually! lol

  • A few years ago I would have said it wasn't possible for that to happen, but now I'm not so sure. This kind of bloodthirsty stuff has already started hasn't it. You may well be right. I hope not though.

  • Yeah... If it does happen I'm going to find a nice cave to go live in. lol

  • Is there such a thing as a nice cave? I hope so because I shall be joining you. Even a cold and wet cave would be preferable to living in a world like that. But people did live in worlds like that. As you said the Romans for a start. These are places you keep your head well down. But, do you think maybe Simon Cowell would still be running the most popular show? and what would it be?

  • Simon Cowell? Nah, he'll probably be running the network by then. Or gone deaf from millions of rubbish X Factor auditions.

  • Yes of course he will. And what sort of a network would he be running? Assuming he is deaf by now, singing acts are out, along with a lot of other acts that depend on the audience hearing. So, I would like to think (to take my mind of the horrific scenario we had envisaged earlier - ie beheadings etc.) the most civilised thing I can think of is the Gladiator Show. Which will be shown at 4.30 in the afternoon clashing with Countdown. Shame!

  • Oh well... Its not been the same since Richard Whiteley died anyway.

  • So, its Simon Cowell yet again winner of afternoon TV and even beating "Countdown". Do you know what! I think I would prefer a load of daytime TV to the other ones we have predicted. At least we could turn off. But- we won't!

  • Well, personally, I'm glad for having YouTube. A lot of time I used to waste watching TV I now waste here. So thats nice.

  • You are so right. I hardly watch TV now. I only turn on to watch specific programmes. Now, it's the computer screen that is eating away my life. Gotta get a grip! It seems there are only two types of people in the world now. The doers and the watchers.

  • Right. Its hard to get into "doer" mode when you've been in watcher mode for a while lol
