the reason the tape didnt stick is because you have to stretch it a bit then appy it then stretch it then apply it and so on! I learned that when I made them

Loved this so much, I went out asap & made them! now my problem is, I have no idea how to get rid of the sticky residue after it's done. Can anyone help me, pleaaase? :(

I tried to rub it off and it got worse, then I tried corn starch but they turned white so I as soon as I wiped it off it went back to sticky. Ahh!

I made those!!! Except I went to "Micheals" and they didn't have anything!!! I had to substitue ballpoint pens for pencils, floral stem tape for ductape, roses for tulips, and yeah. I also put m&m's cuz I thought they would taste better :D

Here's an idea! Remove the flower from the stem, remove the inside of the ballpoint pen (the plastic things attached to the head that holds the ink). Then attach it to the flower. After wrap it in the green tape! Although it might not be as practical, it's certainly more "realistic"!

on another note, it looks nicer when you pop the cap off the top on the pen and insert the flower stem through there ... glue with a glue gun to keep it in place and then wrap. it makes for a cleaner finish. but non the less.. as a I said earlier, cute tutorial

I think for green floral tape you have to stretch it a bit as you wrap it around the pen/stem so it exposes the sticky stuff on the tape ;)

carly! the floral tape only works when you tug a little and pull, that's when the floral tape gives off it's adhesive, so it's sticky. no need for a glue stick :D

One of my mom's friends made something like this for my mom, but instead of putting them the flowers in a vase she bought tiny flowerpots, decorated pieces of foam with some fake grass and placed it in the bottom of them, and stood the pen upright in the foam so it looked like a flower growing out of a pot!

Random question, but are the candy hearts you used the original flavor Sweethearts or something else? They changed the flavors last year and I'm wondering where I can get old flavors again.
