Sorry but all of the Baltic states were in a position of beeing attacked by nazi Germany and Russia. Russia said that it will offer protection from Germany if the Baltic states will allow the USSR to build bases in their countrys.
Did Russia give protection, thats debatable but 1 fact is certain that Russia DID occupie Baltic states due to the fact that USSR didnt give control back to the countries after the war had ended.

Contract terms in allowing Russia to build bases in Estonia (baltic state):
1) Russia wil not threathen Estonias freedom and indipendence. In 1940 Russia count Estonia as part of the USSR.
2) Russia can only bring 10,000 troops to Estonia. When the border was open then Russia brought 250,000 troops to Esttonia.
The terms go on and on but there isnt just enough room in youtube to write them all.

@fcbcdl It was not your territory. Latvia was a internationally recognized independent sovereign country in 1939. Latvian people did not support the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. Stalin supported it. Latvian government was overthrown and a puppet regime was put in place. Majority of the people in Latvia never supported joining the USSR. Therefore Latvia was occupied.
