dude. i love it. i love the svx, the celica. I JUST WANNA SEE EM RUN! i wanna see some 0-60 times dude. genius builds on both btw. wish my brother was into cars and now world of warcraft. lol. but hella down to see you guys run em agains some modern awd's. thinking about doing a 1.8 swap on my escort and swapping in the awd drivetrain from a ford laser (australian). pretty sure i can hit mid 300's on the power end. the awd is really gonna be the kicker though.

Nice! Do you think you'll have alignment issues if you put the rear subframe a tiny bit off? I want to do this with my next project using r33 front suspension on Toyota pickup with Ford 9 4 link in rear. Just scared about the car not aligning right.

@masanivein yea all vz and mz series engines mates to the awd trannies....and modding is a must, in order to get them to fit

ok so you're using a 3vzfe with a e154 transmission out of a gt4? does it bolt right up or did you have to make changes to the back of the block or transfer case? Please send me any information you have about this, thanks.

@cjh4l22 im using the E150F, and yea i had to shave 30mm off the rear of the block, in order for it to even come close to mating them........even then its a problem lol

@cjh4l22 nope not worried about the 30mm missing from the block.........its on the lowest part of the block, and the problem im talking about, is the that clearances are still SUPER TIGHT.

dude fix it up, take good care of it and these things will run to hell and back. i got a 92 st184 and theyre great all rounders i go through cvs drive shafts and bearings like fucking tyres, enjoyin thrasing mine way too much and the mods you can do are limited by your imagination

@rob5209 thanks man, yea its getting there i will be posting the 2nd part of this build soon, but to answer your question........its wasnt that hard to do really it was just time consuming as hell.......especially to get both just right, the brackets i made by modifying the stock caliper holder to fit the Mitsu 4pot calipers

After watching your build, I'm seriously considering this for my MR2. And 287whp @ 10psi with a pnp job is awesome power with the gt35r. the turbo is still sleeping at that level. imagine 25psi on a built engine!!!

but why the twin setup? you looking for more power throughout the rev-range? Personally, I would've just kept the GT35R and up'd the boost. Maybe even move onto a GT40R and make everything at peak rpm.

@krzfly ha ha ha, thanks man, truest me i get that alot ,but yea the the gt35r and gt40r awesome turbos but i wanted to do something different and i believe v6's respond better on twins rather than single its better balance on the cylinders and gives me more power throughout the rev-range for sure, because im now AWD also, i need to get this heavy body moving sooner.....lmao. after this project is done im gonna work on my MR2, 1uzfe is going in, but hey man if you need any tips just let me know

stock 3sgte pistons, for the st185 is 9.5:1 i beleive, so 9.5 is still good on this id say, and the 2.2(5sfe) needs slight moding for the cooling jackets for it to fit if its newer then 93, question, did those wrx rotors fit right on, or did you customize that too?

the wrx rotors will need a little modding to fit.......the problem will be getting them spin true on the hub without causing vibration problems

why do you have a high compression for a twin turbo isnt it better to have low compression like 8.3 to 1

these pistons are more like mid level compression, high compression pistons are 10.5 to 1 and above........9.5 to 1 compression will ensure more NA feel to the car, before boost hits

in for part 2. will also confirm that you can mate a 3sgte head on a 5SFE block, you just have to make sure they match up as he said.

i have a 97 celica convertable 2.2. im wanting to build it up some but i can not find any internal parts i.e. cams, high compression pistons. Can i swap a 3sgte head on it?

if i remember correctly only early years 90-93 2.2L (5sfe) engines can accept the 3sgte head.....the newer ones have different coolant passeges
