So Bruce Wayne isn't dead really. Doesn't that make Battle for the Cowl kinda pointless.Cause it's only a matter time before Bruce returns and becomes batman again.
GoodGuys become part of the bad guys when a silly helmet is slapped on them.
TIME is out of wack.
SUPERMAN figures all of this out on 1 page & then 2 PANNELS later basically pulls a SUPERFREINDS ending out of his ass...... "Darksied your plan was doomed to failure from the start- because when your on the side of justice- the Superfreinds will always win."

johnnyhorror92182 ---im sorry but FC does not make sense. a story good coherent story cannot have a dozen equally important storylines with no main character at all.
Its basic story telling.
Sure there are some cool concepts & decent scenes...But thats not a story. Let alone a major epic event. FC is a HUUUGE failure.
MORRISON is in league with FRANK MILLER now. and that is not an acomplishment.
I thought you were gonna wait until the series was over to do a review.
Also, to anyone who actually thinks this series is revolutionary and awesome, I have 2 comments to them: 1.) sure, i liked it when I read it the first time, during Morrison's JLA run, when it sort of made sense (...Sort of) and 2.) you remind me of the exact sort pf person who thought the Matrix sequels were actually good.
Anyway good review. BTW, this your little brother. Even though im almost 30. Ha, old man.
Ah yes, the 'Rock of Ages' storyline from the end of Morrison's JLA run. That one was tought to get through as well. Oh well, I do believe that this will be the last 'epic' Morrison does for one of the Big Two for a while. I wonder what's become of his MBX project for Virgin Comics?
Well, I have to STRONGLY disagree with mason. I like Final Crisis.
No disrespect to other readers here (maybe a little, tee-hee) but, I think that many of todays readers are lazy and try to let the art tell the story, not the writing.
Final Crisis DOES make sense. If you go back and actual take the time to read it and soak up the artwork along with it, you will understand. It also helps if you know a little about New Gods History and have read Grant's Seven Soldiers:Mister Miracle mini.
You are more than entitled to your opinion, JohnnyHorror, and if you're enjoying FC, more power to ya'. But I'm gonna have to side with those who don't like it. ;-) Even more so than Secret Invasion, FC makes you feel like you need to read a bunch of other stuff to get the whole story, which a mini-series really shouldn't do.
But you know what, I'm gonna take your advice and re-read the whole series from the beginning, and take my time. I'll let you know what I think.

i have to strongly disagre with everything your saying.
If a painting can tell a story then the same should apply for any given comic. The art needs to tell the story first. Then the words enhance it and peel away the layers of the art.
the art in FC ithink is great actualy. its just the randomness of everything that makes it incoherent
Look, you wanna know what the Hell Superman is doing in that last scene. He's saving everybody's asses! He literally raises the battle ground with his heat vision & the speed he's travelling! He smashes into the Evil Factory to try and save Batman.

Boy I truly LOVE DC comics but the editorial has been horendous since 06. COUNTDOWN,the leadups, & now FINAL CRISIS have been not only BAD but an incoherent mess.
FINAL CRISIS has some great scenes & concepts but the basic story telling is HORRIBLE!!! its totaly inexcuable.
How can DILDO or MORONSON hold their heads up and be proud of the mess the DC universe has become thanks to them.
LOL & readers thought the DCU was a mess before 1985...sheesh
Yeah locus, sorry I forgot ya' there. It won't happen again. Promise!
Death of the New Gods was near pointless, which is a shame for the talent involved. John Byrne was ripping it from the beginning too. Guess he was onto something.
haha no worries man, I've a terrible memory sometimes too.
I love Jack Kirby's stuff but Walt Simonson's Orion book was really the only one that really did it well (I'd recommend anyone pick up those back issues)
Never Ever say that John Byrne is right about anything! Thats the first sign of the apocalypse ;)
Back in his day when he was writer/editor in chief comics were disposable. Kids swapped them, lent them, bent em out of shape and threw them away. People don't treat comics like that any more.
DC editorial f****d up with the Death of the New gods by Starlin, that really messed with Morrison.
And they should NEVER have given the art chores to JG jones, he's way too slow. Leinel Yu is lightning fast and bendis knew that.
I agree. Most Filipino artists possess that speed when it comes to drawing, and Yu is no exception to that, plus the fact that he can deliver an excellent touch to his artwork.

HAHA GRANT MORRONSON is not intelligent. FC hides its BS plot under layers of convoluted nonsense & Star Trek technobable.

FINAL CRISIS #7 & the series as a whole:
Badguys take over innocent peoples bodies.

But you're not supposed to read a painting!
Look, you wanna know what the Hell Superman is doing in that last scene. He's saving everybody's asses! He literally raises the battle ground with his heat vision & the speed he's travelling! He smashes into the Evil Factory to try and save Batman.
johnnyhorror92182 3 years ago
Actually you are supposed to read a painting. its supposed to tell a story & evoke emotion through visuals.
Now how do you know superman did all that? The artwork & sotry were not at all clear about that in issue#6.
If i need to read a tie in to understand it then FC is an incomplete story with massive gaps.

No hate here- just frustration with the direction of things.

That's ok Mason. I don't believe in censoring or banning folks from boards. I just don't want you to have an aneurysm. ;-)
