What am I missing here? The conductor is jumping around like an ape, the violinist is woefully out of tune, and the recording is badly balanced. (Interlochen should be able to afford professional productions of their performances.) As for the music, this stuff just doesn't work with orchestra. I think you can see the audience responded very unenthusiastically to it. There is better pop music than this for orchestras to play. Henry Charles Smith would never have programmed this crap!
And besides, this recording was not done by Interlochen, this was a broadcast by a a news station.
