  • im suprised the whole thing held together at all, and im sure that was that pilots last day for that company, shit had to have bounced like crazy inside the cockpit and cabin and i now those crosswinds can be a bitch but dude, just go around!

  • It's as though the plane landed on a long trampoline.

  • Don't they do a U turn approach ? So the banking at final approach increases descent rate ... so the pilot needs to halt a faster descent rate than usual just before touchdown

  • London... I don't think they have unusual winds at London ... This airport does test pilot skill ... there is no other runway, there is no way to avoid cross winds..

The cross wind was consistent and known by the pilot..

Pilot didnt monitor descent rate or react to it effectively.

  • I wonder what that looks like inside.

  • Is that speed brakes on the base of the rudder? did he forgot to disarmed them,

  • @basimpsn

Late reply but, on this aircraft, the rear speed brakes deploy before the landing.

  • The true vomit comet. I bet empty budweiser cans and martini glasses were bouncing all around in the cockpit.

  • angle of descent was WAY too great

  • Windy day + noob pilot = this

  • @sicorange3 The pilot is not a gamer ...O.o

  • @noijze noob/newb/noobie/rookie? Which word do you want me to use - I didn't say the pilot was :\

    Just describing his experience...

  • must've been a girl driver, or asian

  • it wasnt close call !

  • @Corinne6531 it wasnt??

the plane allmost broke the landing gear ffs!

  • @323tiim

Close call means parallel take off or landing!

  • @Corinne6531 lol no it doesnt

  • this plane had landing gear problems after this and had to get fixed at London for 5 weeks.

  • Looks like an ass kicking 90 degree cross wind from the left. I've done those.

  • And after the passengers got their arses out of their mouths....

  • talk about sink rate....

  • LMFAO that plane was bouncing

  • I hope that plane didn't have passengers...

  • I think the message is : NEVER FLY TO LONDON CITY

  • if i were in tat plane i wouldve shit my pants

  • High-Performance shock absorbers by Monroe.

  • Chesley Sullenberger prior to the Hudson River.

  • i think i'll never book a ticket to London City Airport :p

  • A little harder actually and i think:

    Significant Under carriage damage

Structual damage to the wings (seriously look at those things bend when he touches down)

He just flared wayy too late

  • He so should've gone around if he was gonna land that hard... I duno he probably past miniums though

  • looks fake..

  • @mxchan not fake, just fucked up aspect ratio

  • very bad landing

  • that is some good landing gear

  • what a great pilot.. -.-

  • Captain Kangaroo in the cockpit?

  • lol, this reminds me that old joke...

Tower: Well, you could not land any harder, could you?

Pilot: Nevermind... they will applaud anyway

  • holy jebus

  • Didnt they have to boat that plane out?? Got to love London City airport. something like 4.5 degree glideslope.

  • Despite the fact that it is a crosswind landing, I think the pilot must have skipped some aviation lessons... particularly the one that says you need to flare your plane to land, and not to drop down the nose so hard. I wonder how damage is the landing gear... I'm even surprised the plane didn't crash lol. He's coming real high, and then bump, landed again, almost rolled and finally it was stabilized...

  • That was the WORST landing i have ever seen, nose down, then almost rolled onto his right side!

  • Possibly due to a microburst downdraft. If that is the case... it was a good landing.

  • Pilot to copilot: Flare!? What do you mean flare?

  • The Avro was 3 months in the maintain because the gear was so extremly dameged

  • oh wow that is City Airport near the 02 Arena which you can see on the left, thats nuts! what a bad landing

  • that would be a scary flight to be on

  • almost flipped

  • Looks like that Avro will be out of revenue service for a while after that landing. Better get the NDT boys ready for a long night!!

  • yerr this is london city airport

  • its called a crosswind landing

  • it is a crosswind, obviously, but the pilot came in too high, so he did a stupid maneuver which you learn not to do if you dont want to damage the landing gear on the first day of flight training.

  • Wow

  • never mind damage, you wouldnt wana be on that plane after them people coz of the smell.

    good control though

  • ...Cheez Wiz...give that pilot a beer...This buds for you!!! More like a controlled crash than a landing...

  • pass me the sick bag.!!!!!!!those 146 jets are pretty safe...i hope...

  • Caraapppp...that had to hurt!! that looked more like a controlled crash than a landing!

  • I'd hate to be on the next flight in that aircraft wondering if any structural damage occurred on that hard landing. It's about as hard a landing as I've ever seen where the gear and wings remained intact.

  • hows your headache boyz?

  • more like did their butt pucker up at all! i know mine would have

  • Windshear?
