The actual ariel (Sierra Boggess) runs offstage at 19 seconds in...and at 26 seconds its her double that is set to go that comes on...(Notice how her back is to the audience b/c its not really Sierra)

Sierra changes during the songs reprise, and after Ursula sings the end of the vocal part,at 2:31 you see the double cross stage right to let Sierra who is now done changing come on at 2:38 to finish the scene.

In the movie, Ursula got pinned by a bowsprit, but in the show, Ariel destroyed Urrsula's magic shell which causes her to melt away.

I saw this on B-way a couple months ago. This ending is amazing- Now a note on Ursula's lack of tentacles: If she had her dress or tentacles on- it would not only be a problem getting through the trap door (PS- making it bigger is much harder than it sounds) and would be redundant (she is in a giant orb with tentacles and they are comming out from all around the stage) Plus, visually it makes her more scary and evil- less cartoonish. In my humble oppinion Disney rocked it out with this new end.

That whole bubble thing is just...well an odd prop, as fantastic as it is with the moving arms, its a little odd. Don't the arms come out at the end of Poor Unfortunate Souls when she does the spell too though?

I do love this ending, its so much better than Denver! My only complaint is the plethora of special effects.

Actually, i saw the show from the mezzanine back in april, they were really good seats but i was still high enough to see that the trapdoor is pretty large, so her tentacles could hav probably fit
