My cousin totally did this once- it will keep happening if you just try to run the dishwasher; you have to put cooking oil or white vinegar in it (and then table salt) and run it until the suds die : (

I highly recommend Googling "dishwasher liquid soap problem) and using the excellent wikihow article.
