  • I love this act beautiful music and costumes

  • I've been looking for this one EVERYWHERE!! I love all the colors and it looks absolutely amazing!!

  • this is the type of art & music i love

  • One of the most fun acts that Cirque Du Soleil has ever made! :D I really want to do this!!! It looks like so much fun! And then you get paid thousands of dollars for it; life in Cirque must be epic! :D lol

  • they remind me of whos XD

  • does anybody else think that the two men in the blue and white suits that do the balancing are the Atherton twins? i'm pretty sure it's them im just wanting to know if anybody knows for sure

  • @Hajiobessed Yes they are :)

  • @Hajiobessed Yes, you're right!

  • @Hajiobessed Yep, you can tell by the makeup.

  • @Hajiobessed it is the Athertoon twins I think one of them also does the goergian dance

  • @Hajiobessed I was going to ask the same thing. Considering their makeup is the same, I think so.

  • LOVE this song SO MUCH!

  • Are they nudibranchs? That was the first thing that popped in to my head the first time I saw this.

  • lyrics?

  • If anyone wants to know the name of the song is "Sun Drum Fun" I love this act!

  • The singing is absolutely beautiful

  • where do you buy the dvd?

  • I saw this live in Munich and it was fantastic

  • Has anyone else noticed that Varekai's entire show seems to have a sort of under water theme to the costumes and sets? I think it's kinda cool!

  • @MsDragonChild Really?? ;)

  • Oh poor Icarus...great act though!

  • what is the name of the song

  • I love this act! it's so colourful and bright! the tune is so upbeat and lively too! awsome!

and at the end, poor, poor icarus!! xD

  • what language are they singing in??? the show is so awsome...

  • @rz22389

Cirquish, a made-up language by the company to make allowance for the fact that in the replacement employment of other singers, they'll want to have as little difficulty with pronunciation as possible. The singers themselves have no idea what exactly they're saying, but they're saying it loud & proud with feeling, which Cirque considers is all that matters :o)

  • why isn't this on the dvd..?:O

  • it is on the dvd.

  • very very very very very veryyyyy good...

  • is this from the DVD?

  • I don't recognize it, but the quality is too good for anything else.

  • yeeeep

  • i love the song.!! i love the act, the costomes, I LOVE CIRQUE DU SOLEIL VAREKAI

  • i love the end XD

  • No, they're beautifull

  • isaw all of dem and im really younge varekai and ka are my fav

  • Haha. I always thought it looked like these were underwater guys. This time around I finally saw the Vigie fishing, and I got it. xD I've been giggling for at least five minutes.

  • i luv there costumes

  • s this like the circus sorta? its kinda cool

  • I want sooo badly to see Varekai live but they are WAYYYY over in the Europe and I'm WAYYYY over here in America :( I love it! Costumes are so funky but that's what Cirque is known for... thinking outside the box!

  • Me too.

I wonder why they quit touring America?

  • Well, they tour all over the world. Alegria, Saltimbanco etc did the same thing. Now Alegria is back in America (I believe Saltimbanco is also both as arena tourss now). I am just hoping that Varekai does the same thing because I'd love to see it live.

  • Visual stimulation. We use bright colors and distinct shapes with infants to stimulate visual and tactile discernment; to increase brain function. While this would be beautiful in simple white, the multi-colored, curiously designed costumes distract the eye which sharpens the individual movements. The overall effect is that more axons fire in the brain and the performance has more impact; is more enjoyable.

  • i really wish this song was on the cd :)

  • i want tobe in the cirque du soleil

  • Cirque du Soleil, The Best Cirque!

I have a big admiration for this Cirque!

  • Oh my gosh! Poor Icarus...

  • c'est vraiment bau , fabuleux c'est extraordinaire j'ai surtout addoré " Georgian Dance"

  • How Do They Do This???

    Itsss Soooooo AMAZING =]

  • See how shiney their costumes are? They're going to be VERY slick and won't create a lot of friction when they slide, preventing skidding.

    That, and amazing talent. XD

  • Plus the floor is probably coated in soap or teflon or something....or not :] I've seen this show so many times, and it never gets old...

  • me enkanta yo vi alegria si en vivo

  • This act is called Slippery Surface right?

  • Es realmente genial!!!... muy bueno...

la musica te transporta como a un lugar magico...!!!

    Muy buenoooooo0000!!

  • Those costumes are fantastic!

  • Wow! we so wish we cold do all that! the two pink and green girls [the smaller ones] were amazing!!! Circus acts are so cool... especially this one!!!

  • i just absolutely love zara and mathieu. they sing and emote so well together on stage!

  • is this the act that replaced pas de jeux? i miss tatiana and oleg.

  • lol i love Polina's smile it's so addictive =D

  • Their costumes are so cool

  • Incredible!!!!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!!!! and that wonderful stoog at the end. Fantastic!!!!!

Amanda @ Blackpool eat your heart out.

I see now where HOT ICE ect came from.

  • You know what this is? This is a very sophisticated version of what every kid does: put on socks and slide across the kitchen floor.

Cirque has raised it to an art form.

  • Indeed they have lol

  • are they wearing a body sock?

  • Good question. Probably.

  • thank you. haha. XD

  • @SailorBarsoom Yup, that's pretty much what the Cirque is all about.

  • @SailorBarsoom

So true. Cirque is founded on the imaginations of the producers' inner children :o)

  • Who is the guy in pink with blue makeup?

  • The costumes and story are wonderful, and the singers for Varekai are fantastic.

  • i love the costumes!! they remind me of fish and sea urchins

  • I love how they did their outfit to match so there'll be a couple of each color. XD

  • i am absolutely in love with mathieu's voice in this one ^_^

  • same

  • same <3

  • The one in pink is Olena Durnyeva. She was injured in a ski accident a few years ago. She is still recovering and will probably never perform in cirque again. A shame because she's amazing!

  • Actually the one in pink is Polina Mourtazova, Olena came in when Polina was expecting a baby.

  • Darn! It is on youtube :P Lol I love this act so much its so full of joy.

  • Does any1 know how old helen ball is? (the on in pink!) lol i always wondered..

  • According to a search of Helen Ball, Cirque, and Age it would seem 30 if it is the same performer. But I dunno...

  • i discovered through i dont really know how taht helen ball is one of the back ups who also performs in the triple trapeze. apparantly rebecca buffrey is the girl in pink or the one who performs it now adays... lol

  • check the cirque tribune website, it has every person that has done a cirque show on there. even the ones who are no longer w/ the company.

  • i thought she was 22, not quite sure though, thought i heard it somewhere in an interview

  • i hav no idea but shes like so small she must only weigh like 80 or 90lbs

  • XD

    lol at the ending...

  • lolz yeah, poor Icarus

  • that fat girl is luchy...

    Icarus is so cute!

  • new act?

  • I thiink I read somewhere that this act was used to temporarily replace the Acrobatic Pas de Deux act when Tatiana hurt herself.

  • this is the best show in the world! sawit live in the Royal Albert Hall 3 days back. stunning!! cant stop watching! the costumes in verakai are superb! but the other cirques seem to consist of skin tight suits and crappy face masks...?

  • That girl in pink has such a cute smile :D

The music reminds me of "Under the Sea" from Disney's The Litte Mermaid.

  • ME TOO!! I love it <3

  • This got to be a new act................. I don't remember it at all or the sing either

  • The number ones in this act are the twins :D

    LU4ever

  • Yeah they cut pieces on the dvd because they have cut some pieces from here the Body Skate act, and the Presentation with the Fire fly some pieces of the Russian swing, and Icarian games, And the Handbalancing act.

  • =D Yeah, they kind of smoosh them all together, I think.

  • I LOVE THIS ACT & SONG

  • I love this act. Especally Olena Durnyeva (she's the main one in pink), she makes the whole act full of fun. The song is great, and just to point out it is on the new Varekai cd (released 2003). Anyways it's great (the song and the act). Oh, one more thing is it just me or does the music on the dvd cuts in and out in some acts?

  • yeah they do cut, because I think that they have a 30 min intermission to set up for the second part of the acts in this case to set up that big body skating scene.

  • I didn't mean that, TT;

I know that they need to set up the stage. What i want to know is that on the Varekai DVD, why in some acts (if you listen close enough) the sound goes down a bit and sound faintier? Oh and also if it was 30 mins it did seem longer while you were there.

  • oh I didn't know thats what you meant....sorry about that. Maybe they had a sound that they didn't want you to hear?

  • In a song???? hmm i doubt it......anyways if that was true then why can you still hear it?? also if that was the case then why would the songs be on cd?? But i guess it was probably just a problem with the mike, anyways they might have not realized. Sorry for bothering you.

  • I suppose so...I could see what you mean, but I'm not really sure myself...

  • This act is great and you feel so happy after watching it. It reminds a bit of Disney's Ariel, when the lobster is singing.

  • You mean "The Little Mermaid"! I do agree this act is enjoyable to watch (although it reminds me more of what some people think the Florida Keys and beaches are like).

  • hehe And it's not a lobster, it's a crab. Sebastian is it's name.

  • COOL! I havn't seen this part of the show... is so funny JOJOJOJO

I didn't recognize the song... it's too different from the one i know.

  • I think if you are watching the cirques on Bravo they cut this act for time- its on the dvd.

I absolutely love the song and wish it was on the soundtrack. :(

Mathieu la voi (sp?) the male singer is fantastic!

  • Yess, it was on Bravo, and it was abouut...58 minutes or so on that one...I didn't see the full version of anything until I bought the DVD <3.

And the singer's name is Mathieu Lavoie! He's amazing :D

  • This song makes me happy because it reminds me of a tropical beach :)

It helps getting through the cold and snowy Canadian winter.

  • i love this song. i wish they showed this when it org. aired

  • OMG! THE END WAS GREAT!! I really want to join the Cirque du Soleil.

  • Me too.

  • MY mom doesn't want me to, though... 0.o

  • Why not? If i am not prying too much :)

  • Yeah...Cirque du Soleil is innocent and wonderful....

err...unless you're talking Zumanity >_> >_> But even then, the true meanings of the acts are beautiful!

  • hey...they don't show this part on the DVD o_o..or maybe the one i have. anyway it's amazing and i love the outfits...and poor icarus!! XD

  • it is on the dvd !!

  • Yeah, it is!!!

  • Zara is amazing. I love her voice.

  • Finally someone upload a video of Body Skating.. !!..

    one of my favourites too..

also the Song " sun drum fun" i love itttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • I love it, too!! I wish they put it on the main soundtrack!
