i saw chuck jackson do this in both 1963 and1964 at a murray the k xmas show at the brooklyn fox theater in nyc. it seems impossible to me that he sounds just as damned GREAT now as he did close to 50 years ago...what a gift! if only newer music sounded this good today....
i'm the tall guy with the back of my head bobbin up to the left of centre, kept saying to people i wanted to see Chuck Jackson perform live before i died ! 30 days later i was diagnosed with liver cancer but thanks to a transplant and God's grace i'm still here to enjoy this wonderful soulful music KTF
Used to see him at the Brooklyn Fox shows. The girls used to go crazy for him. It is amazing to hear his voice has gotten so much better so long after this was a hit.
Which numskull put a thumbs down on this artist, i just can't believe some people, if its not your type of music just leave it to those who like it. There's always one, unfortunately.
This is another beautiful song out of the past, that most young artist of today can't touch, not like this. He still puts a lot into his performances. Just great. Child you know how to post. Thanks.
My parents, also in their early to mid 70s, were young adults back when "real music" came from artists such as Mr. Jackson. I learned a lot by listening to their old records when I was a kid :)
Thank you, Chuck, for years of beautiful music. What a special week this was in Prestatyn. More info and photos from this event at J Reed Entertainment
Damn, this man is such a legend. O.V. Wright isn't around, but Chuck Jackson still is. How fortunate we are to be able to be connected with a legend who still performs. I gotta hear him play "Who's gonna pick up the pieces"
I am blown away! Wow! Look! No dancers, backdrops, cursing, his pants are at his waist...I could go on. Now, I can't fron like I don't like today's muisc. I do, but there is something about classic artists performing today that gets to me.
thanks for posting. this is by far one of my most favoriyte songs. i sing this song reglaurly in karaoke to the ronnie milsap verison but let there be no doubt: chuck jackson provides the soul power to the delivery. a truly great record. thanks for this!!!
@SteveonLI My pleasure i was just thankfull i attended this concert as these great singers are slowly but surely joining that great Choir in the sky, so we must take every opportunity to go and see them sing whenever they do and we can.
A work of genius-a work that touches and includes every race and creed in the world.Ask the white guy about the passage beginning with "I know I shouldn`t keep you if you don`t want to stay.."Ask the older black man what he`s thinking about when his young girlfriend starts looking at men her own age.
This song is of a rare ilk...It is absolutely timeless.Absolutely universal.
It is amazing that Chuck still has that wonderful voice after all these years. Not too many of the great ones still have it after the ages of 40's and 50's.
not only a great voice but a gentleman as well ......both me and my wife got a picture took with him and his autograph saturday morning whilst he was rehearsing
Elvis loved his music. Elvis loved this song so much he recorded it after meeting him. Great to hear the original

Chuck that was wonderful. Your voice is just as strong and clear and powerful
as it was in 1957 and that's very rare in singers.
