We can't think of a crueler punishment for these social pack animals who want—and deserve—companionship, scratches behind the ears, walks around the block, and the opportunity to curl up at their guardians' feet at night indoors.
I have a dog that has to stay out side, hes too be to keep in our small house but he has a resonably sized pen and big warm dog house with a heat lamp in the winter, but canada winter be crazy so when it is too cold out he comes inside and gets lots of treats (:
America is a place where millions of non violent people are kept locked in cages, for being poor, or uneducated, and failing the struggle to survive in a 'dogeatdog' environment established by past slave owners; slave owners who have changed their methods but not their purpose. The constant abuse of animals as shown above is, in my mind, another example of the trickle down abuse principle. The master can abuse 'his own property' without regard for it - as it is just a 'thing' he or she owns.
look i lov dogs, and i believe in keeping them mainly indoors where it's safe and warm, but, I don't think any state should start assing laws telling you when to keep your dog inside yout house and can't have it on your property. infact, they CANT make a law like that.
people have no heart to leave their dogs out in freezing weather all animals need shelter and food from the weather all I can say is shame on these ass holes for leaving the dogs out in the freezing weather while they are all warm and cozy in their homes. I live in Northern Florida and they tell us to bring in our animals when it gets to cold out and even the ducks get hay to stay warm on cold nights.
Having seen a video from Bensalem whereas hunt club members are illegally shooting birds on their property, you seem to have a lot of backwards minded people living there. I dont understand these morons, you dont leave a dog outside in those temperatures, whats he or she guarding? DUH
As for what to do about these Abused Pets? Special Forces are Issued a Pistol with a Suppressor. There called Hush Puppies. They use them on Geese,Dogs,& the Occassional Guard to Silence Them! So maybe it's time for someone to just go around & Euthanize these Pets. I'm not Crazy about the idea, but it beats just leaving them to suffer. You can't Steal & then Care For Hundreds of Pets. Not without Millions of Dollars. I don't even consider it Stealing if You can take care of the one's You do take!
The Punishment for these Owners is Really Quite Simple. They should be Chained in the SameConditions as TheirPets. Give them some SummerWeightClothes. SomeFrozenWater. NoFood, & the SameKind of BeddingTheirPets have. A BareFloor, or just BareGround! TheChain can go AroundTheirNeck & a Padlock can be used & Padlock the Chain on the other end to a Tree or TelephonePole. Use some really good HighSecurityPadlocks for BothEnds. They can be bought Keyed Alike for $40.00 ea.. I'd Call That JUSTICE!
people who do this to their dogs should be chained up outside their house in the cold for a night, the funny thing is, even if the dogs had the chance they still wouldn't do this to any human
You know, I can't say that I support sticking a dog in a bad environment or abusing one for that matter. But I will say this, they are domesticated wolves and like wolves are in a more natural state outside. I know that the people recording the video feel that they are doing something good, but I would be careful not to harrass the owners or trespass as they may find themselves in jail. I mean you never know how crazy some people are either, people may shoot when they see trespassers
@utwombat These dogs have been bred for hundreds of years so that they no longer resemble wolves in many ways, including losing the long fur that gives them protection from the elements. They are NOT domesticated wolves anymore.
@squamish4244 canis lupis familiaris ( domestic dog) , canis lupis (grey wolf)... the thing here is that the dog is more in its natural state outside, however due to humans taking dogs outside of their natural habitat they are more susceptible to the harness of the environment. Take for example, the chihuahua supposedly descended from the fennec fox, which is natural to North Africa. If you took a fennec fox and stuck it in the cold of a Penn winter then it would probably die... cont...
@squamish4244 ... not because of anything that was lost or bred out of it, but bc humans put it in an environment that it was not naturally suited for. I don't discourage your compasion or empathy, I just disagree with your reasoning.
It's too bad the cops and the laws are so worthless in this country. The police are ok with people torturing animals but they will ruin someones life for having a dried plant. What a fucked up society! And people actually wonder why I have NO respect for our bullshit, pathetic excuse for a legal system
at winter time at our old house we had a heated bed in the kitchen for our 3 dogs, but surprisingly i found them with me in the morning :D we moved and in this house they sleep with me :D i cant understand how blind humans really r,i have my dogs outside but when the temperature drops below 20 degrees they r inside all day.they go out if they need to.u must give them fun games n freedom in the woods or wherever but they must stay inside also!
The is a dog up the street from me and nobody cares about him and he is out on the chain a very short one and I can't stand it seen him out there anymore what do I do?
@stefaniagabe If he has no shelter, the "guardians" are in violation of the law, and you can report them to the police or county animal control. Every dog is required to have adequate food, water & shelter. Go back and take a picture (or video) and keep it for evidence, and if it looks wrong, call someone. Don't just do nothing. You can help.
The owner belongs on the end of those chains and see how they like it. Why have a dog if you are going to keep it chained up outside, what is the point?
Can't believe these people with nice houses (so not like they can't afford some comfort for their animal) that treat animals that way;.. seriously;;; why waiting for a law, steal the dogs that's it...
Put a stuffed animal at the end of the chains, the assholes won't even see the difference !
Have you begun any petitions on The Petition Site? If nothing else, it will put pressure on Pennsylvania law enforcement officials...embarrasment does a lot...
I've lived in the country in rural Oklahoma east of Norman for almost 5 years and I've never seen my neighbors three dogs off their chains. I have 2 1/2 acres which I've fenced in and my dogs can roam freely in and I feel bad every day when I listen to my neighbors dogs bark. At one point a hound dog appeared which he stuck in a 5 by 5 closed off section of his chicken coop where it stayed for two months then luckily dissapeared. It's sad because theres not much I can do. I hope you succeed.
So heartbreaking.......why can't *everyone* see the despair and depression in a chained dog???? Rehome the dog or let it live inside and take it for walks! There's no reason for such hillbilly ignorance in this century. A neighbor of mine has JRT's on 3-4ft chains, placed stratigically apart, w/metal barrels for sheltor. They've been there since they were tiny puppies and they're not allowed to play together. For the love of God why??? I hope he dies screaming...............
What is wrong with those people? I'm by no means a dog person but even I found that disgraceful.
However, the way I understand it, I think they're attacking the wrong issue. An animal can be just as neglected in a fenced in yard as on a chain. The problem is people who fail to provide the animal adequate food, water, shelter, and vet care.
Thank you for exposing this cruelty and for campaigning to change laws that will give family pets better protection in the future. It is clear some of these dogs will not survive unless compassionate action is taken and urgently. Thank you Dogs Deserve Better, I am so glad you are there to help, these dogs are invisible without your tireless work and determination to save lives.
I couldn't even make it 2 minutes into the video as I sit here and weep. To whomever is helping, feeding, giving water and some straw as relief from this abuse, I think you. Watching, writing letters and hoping for change in Massachusetts.

i like to chain the owner up in my yard and starve them to death with no food and water !!! then let my 3 huge dogs outside o i forgot one of my dogs is a germansheperd and let them take over and i just want to sit back on my porch drink a beer and o well i c nothing... what an azz whole i also like to have a few seconds with them cause i don't think they would be talking or moving !!! when i get done with them.... lets chain your sorry ass outside in the cold u stupid fuck head !!!!
Pennsylvania is awful they found over 100 animals in a home ALL dead but 2 emaciated dogs. The animals cats, goats, dogs were all murdered in the mexican ritual Santeria!!!!!! What is wrong with the state of Pennsylvania?!!! It is leagal in the US under a law passed in 93 SICKENING!
OMG!!! Where are there protections?!! This is sooo wrong in every way in anywhere in the world!!!!! I wouldnt leave them to die under any circumstances. They dont have a caretaker and need to be removed to safety! If you wouldnt let a human being freeze to death whay would you let a helpless animal!
call to ASPCA better!! Why? Against the laws MUST stay in the house keep them WARM! See that video. Dogs could be dead very coldest outside NOT safety!
Laws against this abuse of animals should be passed in every state. I addition to unchaining, the law should also require that they provide them with shade when it's hot, appropriate shelter when it's cold, food and water.
Unfortunately? Under current laws? It's really sad to say, but these dogs are techically taken care of. Water is left out and they have "shelter" in the form of a dog house.
LAWS need to change. We as citizens of every state need to stand up and force our legislature to stiffen the laws and change them so criminal cases can be made.
The film makers ARE LEGALLY NOT ALLOWED to release them! In Pennsylvania they would be arrested if they did so. How horrible is that! I live in PA and am pissed off about that! The owners need to get off their a**es and bring the dogs inside! Dogs ARE NOT lawn ornaments!!!

These people should be in prison and those dogs should be with real people in good homes. How dare they be warm and cozy in their cushy homes while those beautiful animals freeze and languish on chains outside?! The mentally defective and heartless should never have animals, or kids. I'm not in Pennsylvania but I of course hope this law gets passed.
What is wrong with these idiots? They do not deserve these animals.Life on a chain is in my opinion abuse and neglect.Poor babies out in the nasty weather.
OMG, that is heartbreaking. I can't believe these people are allowed to keep animals at all, this is extreme neglect and cruelty. To them, having a dog must just be cheaper than paying for an alarm system, nothing more. This really should be illegal.
Is anyone having trouble viewing this video? PLease comment here to let me know...this is the first one I've uploaded that just doesn't seem to be working right, for me at least. I hate to think that people cannot see it, so let me know if you can't.
Rise up good people of Pennsylvania and stop tolerating such cruelty: pigeon shoots, puppy mills, and dog-chaining, are three of the more despicable animal abuses that must end!
Contact PA legislators and demand that the chaining of dogs end.
Yes, you can, by contacting our reps and telling them you have a 3 hour law and they need to pass ours, it's the right thing to do, AND please pass along to everyone you know, we have to network to get our PA people activated to get this law passed!
That's so sad...what's wrong with these owners to allow their poor dogs out in the freezing weather! Maybe they need to be chained outside in this kind of weather so they can feel exactly what the dogs are feeling...it would serve them right!!! Thank you for being their voice!!!
We can't think of a crueler punishment for these social pack animals who want—and deserve—companionship, scratches behind the ears, walks around the block, and the opportunity to curl up at their guardians' feet at night indoors.

Is anyone having trouble viewing this video? PLease comment here to let me know...this is the first one I've uploaded that just doesn't seem to be working right, for me at least. I hate to think that people cannot see it, so let me know if you can't.

Thank you for posting !!!
I feel it's time to chain the dogs "masters". This is truly a crime and you are a wonderful, loving, caring human being. We love you Tammy !
You are an inspiration to all of humanity.

Rise up good people of Pennsylvania and stop tolerating such cruelty: pigeon shoots, puppy mills, and dog-chaining, are three of the more despicable animal abuses that must end!
Contact PA legislators and demand that the chaining of dogs end.

Can Californian residents help out in any way?

Yes, you can, by contacting our reps and telling them you have a 3 hour law and they need to pass ours, it's the right thing to do, AND please pass along to everyone you know, we have to network to get our PA people activated to get this law passed!

That's so sad...what's wrong with these owners to allow their poor dogs out in the freezing weather! Maybe they need to be chained outside in this kind of weather so they can feel exactly what the dogs are feeling...it would serve them right!!! Thank you for being their voice!!!
