  • Where the fuck does that bike used to be?..

  • Would this method apply to a non steel bike? Say, chromoly or aluminum?

  • Hey, great video! Could you tell me what kind of grinder you have there? I'm recycling bikes, and looking to save some precious time!

  • What would happen if I used just primer and gloss ?? Please reply

  • @MrMalik101 you have shiny primer

  • can i use 100 grit sand paper ??? plzzz reply ??????

  • @DPLQatar it'll scratch into the frame to much so no

  • hi dude. do i need to do the same process if i want to respray my rims? im using a fixie. can you tell or show me how to respray my rims? thanks.

  • bridgestone bike?

  • @gtino195 yes

  • @SenorDingles thats cool, i would've convert it to a fixed gear

  • Where did you get such a run down frame?

  • Can I just strip the paint off and leave the bare aluminum? Or do I have to put some sort of protective coat on it?

  • @pixelharmony aluminum will dull but if u want it to stay shiny polish it then clear it

  • its tha same way on bmx bike?

  • @WPofi4 yes

  • does this work better on fiber glass frames?

  • @pimpmegirl you have to be really careful when working on those

  • Hey your good with the bikes you should to a bike project, from the beginning to the end and of course uploaded!

  • Hey nice vid thanks. Quick question. What tool were you using to do the heavier sanding? Didn't look like a home drill. Just curious. Thanks

  • @mrbythatmuch1 its a shop tool that runs off air, but its uses thats same bits i show in the video

  • your video stops at 140

  • Bridgestone bicycles are the best. I'm going to repaint mine too.

  • That's a beautiful frame.

  • Stripped the bike last night, wear gloves people!!!! Wear long sleeves if you're using the paint stripper that's in a can, the wind will put it on your skin. And it will burn T_T

  • does the stripper take away clear coat too?

  • @aldegebra777 yes it does

  • he looks like mr bean! lol

  • Are the other Jonas brothers gonna help?

  • Do a video on how to clean a chain !!;)

  • @aandy2candy im going to

  • Alright well im trying to paint my hed3

    Primer

    2 paint coating

    Clear Coating?

Are these the correct steps mike?

  • hye, what if my bike paint still in a good condition, can i just spray just like that? no need to strip the paint?

  • @haikal6007 you can scuff your paint and paint over it but for best results you do all these steps

  • @SenorDingles thanh you for your advice

  • Any tips on sanding a carbon fiber bike?

  • @chrisraaay Very carefully. The carbon fiber dust is as bad as asbestos dust.

  • bruv, i have one question. i bought this bike other day from the flea market. new paint job is horrbile on this bike and it looks really ugly. what do you suggest i should do? at first, should i sandpaper the frame directly to get rid of all the paint?

  • @victoryofnanking to do it correctly you take it all apart and sand and strip the frame

  • hey does it make a difference in using aerosol paint stripper or the liquid one? also once the paint stripper makes the paint bubble off, wont the paint be so bubbled off that it wouldnt take much effort to remove the paint? a few other videos show other people just removing the paint after the stripper has been put on like its nothing, they just rub it off with like a gardening tool! am i missing something?

  • @keychain1337 the liquid stripper seems to work the best for me, its slightly stronger, and yea sometimes it comes off easier then others this frame had multiple layers of paint so it took little more work

  • Can mikes bikes paint a bike for me if so how much would it cost

  • @SoloDoloScoot Good paint jobs will probably cost $200-$300.

  • this is interesting man I got a 1980 trek 360 from a neighbor and have been thinking about redoing it. i got another smaller road bike the otherday but i forget the name.

  • great video man, is the paint sticky or soft at all?

  • @shrednation1 its smooth

  • Awesome videos dude!

Totally inspiring, concise, effective video. They are attenting grabbing and entertaining without deviating form their practical purpose.

    Keep it up.

I look foward to seeing more.

  • @consistentbass thank you

  • that wasn't so bad was it ?

I spend 7 hr with the Sandpaper!!!! and now i feel like I have muscle coming out of my fingers

  • @xTYROCKx hahah i spent way more time then that on mine but itll be worth it when its all done post a video response of your frame when its done

  • If you sand down the frame just a bit before you brush on the paint stripper it works a lot better.

    Thanks Mike

  • How much paint remover do you need?

  • hey do u really need power tools to take off the paint??

  • @pizzaisthebestfood no just speeds up the process

  • sandblast ftw

  • Can i change revo shifters on my road bike, like the ones on mountain bikes to integrated shifters where my brakes are on the hoods?

    Thanks :)

  • @maromera Umm if the shifters and derailers are the same it should work

  • would sand blasting the old paint off be quicker.....

  • @ryan562broo yea it just costs money

  • Hey mike, What about using the spray paint strippers??

  • @MixSynchro there fine just usually chemicals not as strong as the can stripper

  • fucking anoying

  • Do you have any tips on the sanding, i do i have a "lugged" frame and its really frustrating me that i cant get the paint out of the knooks and crannies of the bike, any advice would be much appreciated

  • Why the fuck was he yelling

  • Hey I just wanted to know what kind of sander do you have? I'm trying to find a handheld sander thats small enough like that one. Also where did you find an adapter for the scotch brite sand discs?

  • @ivaniee all this stuff u can get a home depot Id use the scotch bright adapters its cheaper then getting a sander

  • Oh yeah, what if we want to keep the decals?

  • @OutPuT buy new decals

  • @Postie218 Thanks.

  • Mike, do you recommend a particular clear coat? I did some research and found automotive clears are the best since they're designed for abuse in mind but they're quite expensive per can. Unless you plan on having it professionally done?

  • @GiZMOSOLiD i used all sherwin williams paint supplies. and its worth the cost cause the paint will look better for longer

  • Hey Mike that stripped frame looks nice! I dig that simple chrome look. Can you mention in part 2 how to preserve such a stripped frame for someone who doesn't want to paint it but ride it as it is?

  • @Poland1st thanks it took alot of work. But to get the look you want you do the same thing you clean the frame then just spray clear coat on it. to keep the frame raw without it rusting on you

  • @Poland1st I heard clear coat and raw metal don't play well with each other so the clear coat would be a lot less effective and chip off pretty fast. I really wanna keep my bike raw or clear coat over rust actually.

Oh and chrome is completely different.

  • Mike, do you have Pictures of the bike priorto stripping?

@DavidisYoon it is an njs steel Bridgestone.

  • What kind of frame did you use? Aluminum? Chomo?

  • Mike!

Thanks so much for all these videos. I recently just go into bikes in February, and because of you I now know so much more.

I also planned to do this soon to my old schwinn, and BAM in my sub box this pops up.

    Again, thanks! :D

  • good stuff...

  • Nice Bridgestone frame. I think I'll prep my bike now because of this video. Real thorough and easy to follow.

  • @OutPuT thanks man it was alot of work, and yea take your time and i should have part 2 done in 2 weeks or so

  • Wow, I was planning on doing this today and within the last 30 min I have been looking all over for a video like this. And then I open my sub box and BAM! there you are. haha thanks man.

  • @IIIBLAKEIII haha thats awesome make sure to take alot of before and after pictures
